It makes me sick to say it, but I hope China negotiates a deal, Washington demands Zelinsky reject it like they did yhe last time a deal was agreeable, and Zelinsky tells Washington to pack sand.

A peace deal brokered by anybody at this point would accomplish nothing long term. All a peace deal would do would get Putin out of a very sticky situation now and allow him to save face while he pulled back and rebuilt and rearmed his military and then he will go right back in.
Putin has taken Crimea and used proxies to fight a war for 7-8 years trying to gain control of the Donbas and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. He finally just sent the Russian military in last year to go for the whole enchilada and it has blew up in his face. Putin has not went this far over the past 8-9 years to just give up and sign some peace deal. It’s been pretty clear since Obama was in office that he wants Ukraine and he is going to take it even if he has to do it piece by piece or region by region. That’s just the cold hard truth. It may take him longer to get it than he wants but eventually he will if NATO countries stop arming the Ukrainian side.
All this is not my opinion on supporting Ukraine one way or the other. Im just pointing out how Dictators and strongmen operate and using Putin past history to prove my point. Putin may enter some kind of peace deal in the short term to regroup but in the long term war May rage in Eastern Europe for years to come.
