this is the difference in the discussion. tboy is afraid of short term loss. IE potential downturn in the economy. VS the long term wellness of the American economy, and remaining the top economic power in the world.
i am perfectly ok with some short term discomfort to even out the 100s of billions the chinese make off of trade from the US. And that does not count the IP that they STEAL from US companies. tboy is afraid of any sort of discomfort, regardless of the end goal.

Yes you are correct, but i want you to take into account we will be paying more for gadgets and toys in America, China will starve. BRASIL said they can only produce so much and they are commited to they're trade parters the excess they will sell to China. China will starve, i understand the thought they dont give a shite about theyre people, but the fact that Hong Kong is only growing bigger and a total civil unrest will collapse the chicons. If the Chinese go after they're citizens then the remaining trade partners in Europe will stop trade for atrocities.

This ..but it's not surprising. Lets not forget Pelosi's stance on MS13 when it became Trump denounced them. ...the "spark of divinity" comment is all I need to know about the current mindset of the democratic left.
On another angle though...could this be Trumps version of Reagan and the collapse of communist Soviet Union? A different "arms" race ? The Reagan version broke the Soviet Union. I remember people terrified of the growing proliferation of soviet spending and how the world could end. Now again another escalation and panic. But does China as a communist country survive. Are there enough middle upper class Chinese now that can relieve the communist control? Is that Trumps ultimate goal...secure better trade deals (and undo the currency manipulation) by effectively toppling the current communist system?
