If you watch at the 1 hour mark almost on the dot, you'll see just how clustered these island bases are. They're impressive individually on an engineering scale, and they definitely prove what the Chinese ultimately intend to do in the future
But a few well placed nukes and they're toast immediately. They're so far out of the Chinese mainland that they can't be protected by the full force of their missile defense or resupplied at wartime. Drone swarms would run them out of air defense capability quickly and then every expensive and technical object on that island is fair game.
They're also so far out at sea that all the dozens of radars, anti aircraft and beachhead guns, the underground bunkers, all of it - are only able to be powered by solar panels.
The whole "island aircraft carrier" is rendered disabled by simply swarming the solar panel farms that power them with hundreds of drones - let alone powerful hypersonic missiles or tactical nukes after sending enough cheap drones to run through their air defense ammunition.
They look impressive and are certainly a feat of engineering, but they're extremely vulnerable
