Yet when confronted with an obvious shite philosophy that has the label of "religion" added to it, we all are undone by our original cultural beleif in religious freedom protection. We've absolutely gutted our willingness to engage in sensible judgement.

I think the smartest thing to do is enforce the laws.

In general any alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means.

Another problem, speaking as an atheist myself is that for some dumb reason, most atheists refuse to practice any discernment when it comes to religion. Of course, with a few notable exceptions who see Islam for what it is.
But, overall, there's this silly notion that MAYBE Islam is worse, but barely.
It's sad because really, atheists should be the best at stepping away from the silly, "but it's a religion and so you're a bigot" argument. But, American liberalism has fricked up atheism beyond all recognition.

Why the frick is the board anchoring this thread?

This thinking right here is what I'm talking about and what has paralyzed otherwise intelligent people in terms of judgement.
What has paralyzed otherwise intelligent people in terms of judgement is the generalization of religious and ethnic groups without regard to nuance.

See. You did it right there.
No. In no universe can a BELIEF SYSTEM be equated to an ethnicity. We all, as humans, have the power to read a belief system and CHOOSE whether or not to believe it. And, that choice is informative to everyone around us. You throw the "religion" blanket upon it to give it a free pass it does not deserve.

When there’s ZERO benefit to something but frequent negatives how would you calculate it?
Imagine you buy a stock that while maybe not going down every single day it does go down often and NEVER has even a single day of going up. Would you think that’s a good stock?

I think there is a big difference in buying / selling stocks and confiscating and destroying places of religious significance.

They also imprison and slave labor ethnic minorities that are Muslim. Still think they know what they’re doing?

quote:No other religion has a doctrine of jihad as a foundational principle. This alone makes Islam an outlier.
The eradication of other beliefs/systems IS their religion.
Islam is a political ideology masquerading as a religion and it is not compatible with western liberal democracy. It seeks to capture and replace any culture into which it is introduced. The west needs to wake up and recognize it for the existential threat it is.

Just because the UK is too cowardly to challenge the influence and intrusion from a church on their state doesn't mean the solution is eradication of that religion from society.
Believe people when they say they are your mortal enemies.

One of the worst ideas to come out of the 20th century was the widespread belief that no culture was better than any other.
This is a great point that needs to be highlighted.
It baffles me how quickly people accept cultural failures on a micro level (ex: so & so failed school because he grew up in a bad home) but think this magically goes away with a bigger sample size.
Some cultures are better than others, period.
That said, defining "better" is a whole 'nother debate
