Sports gambling will net $100-$150M in proceeds. So, we're 20% of the shortfall through those 2. Large chunk may have not been the correct word, but the point still stands.

No Bailout. Place the city in Receivership, appoint a Federal Judge to oversee the Liquidation.Dissolve the city government and sell /auction the assets to pay the debts. No more Chicago, forbid the area from ever incorporating again.Order the population to move out, doze the remaining structures and turn the land into a U.S. Forest.

Let them reap what they have sown. The dems mayors and governors shut it down to hurt the economy and Trump. They allowed the riots to go on and refused federal help when Trump offered.

No federal bailout.

Good. I just hope taxpayers from other states aren't stuck with the bailout tab.

With brilliant leadership like Chicago has, this should be a minor hurdle.

I'm sure they'll figure out how much to raise property taxes to kick the can another 3 years.

Pelosi is going to push the RINOs until they crater again like the cucks they are then get 2 trillion to bail out every state and city while the peasants get crumbs.

Was on chi ..June of last year and picked up a newspaper to get a feel for local stuff. There was an Article about the mayor needing to raise taxes due to 750 to 800 mil shortfall. Not sure if the 1.2B is a continuation of that 800m but i thought to myself. You have a a shortfall if its 25...30M maybe 50m. 800 million isnt a shortfall that's theft incompetence and much more

The Dems are saying that if you elect Biden, they will start rioting.

Perhaps Trump should say that if Chicago elects Republicans, he'll give them a bailout and a chance to enact some good policies for a change.

Just need another $800M. That’s just 7% of the city budget.

Maybe they can raise taxes again.
For the trillionth time.
State income tax is only 4.95%.
And property tax only runs about $8500 on a $500k home.

It’s a fricking paradise.

I used to live in Chicago for about 15 years and I know all too well. Luckily I didn't own a home, only rented, but renters are feeling it as well. Landlords pass down the property tax increase. My rent went up 17% in one year.

Raise the property taxes on white people!

Already did, and fatboy is going to do it again.

I could see them in a Sweden type taxation in next decade.
