Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s defense lawyers played audio of George Floyd allegedly saying “I ate too many drugs,” while being detained.

The video clip was presented during cross examination of Los Angeles Police Sgt. Jody Stiger, a paid witness for the state, who claims that “no force should have been used” on Floyd.

quote:

The defense also played the clip of Floyd allegedly admitting to eating too many drugs. He added that the rowdy scene caused “a heightened sense of awareness” for the officers.

When asked if he could make out what Floyd was saying in the clip, Stiger said that he could not.

Nelson responded that “in the chaos of a situation, things can be missed.”

quote:

Floyd’s autopsy showed that he had consumed a fatal amount of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

“This is what’s called a Speedball – a mixture of an opioid and a stimulant,” Nelson said at the start of the trial. “The evidence will show that Mr. Floyd died of a cardiac arrhythmia that occurred a result of hypertension, his coronary disease, ingestion of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and the adrenaline flowing through his body.”

The questions here, my opinion only:

- DOES the cop have a duty to call in a medical emergency? The audio is correct. It's their defense.

- If so, and they did not, then I can see the police getting some time IF THEY DID NOT.

- If They did call the paramedics, then no grounds.

I read they did call paramedics and it took around 17 minutes for them to arrive.

The riots after the trial will probably make last year look like the minor leagues.

Back when we used to have a constitution in this country there was a thing called reasonable doubt.

I think there exists enough reasonable doubt that the drugs could have been the cause of death to the point Chauvin should he acquitted. I don't think that happens though.

That has been dead and gone for a long while as well.

Clearly Chauvin should have let the perp go because he was in a self-induced medical crisis and Chauvin should have magically determined that Floyd ingested a lethal amount of drugs, despite his saying that "I ain't high on nothing".

Innocent. Floyd is the douchebag here, and too many people have eaten the liberal lead paint.

I don't think it was that long. Think it was more like 7 minutes or something. I know the firefighter EMT chick was saying there's no way it shoulda taken that long. She was implying some kind of conspiracy I guess. But you can clearly see the Cops calling for medical on the video. It did take them longer than I would expect to get there, but there's no denying they called them.

I believe the medical help also said they've had issues getting into that area before, and that they had to move him somewhere safer to continue giving help or something like that.

The CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS awarded the family 27 Million bucks because of "wrongful action" by their police!! (That is why Chauvin cannot possibly get a fair trial!!)

I have no idea how much family got the gofundme liberals...

The paramedic on the scene testified. She was yelling at Chauvin to stop and let her check Floyd out, and Chauvin told her to be quiet. She tried to tell him how to turn Floyd over and start CPR, and he ignored her.

That was her testimony.
