This isn't really accurate and you can measure the success of Ashkenazi Jews against the success of Sephardic Jews and other Jewish groups.

Ashkenazi Jews are an interesting genetic case because over a 20 generation period, the rabbis (the most verbally gifted in their community) had at least a dozen children. This had an affect of raising the mean IQ of the group, especially verbal intelligence.

You go to any University and the engineering programs will be filled with East and Indian Asians, yet the law and business programs will have a vastly disproportionate amount of Jews.

Granted, this was, in many ways, an act of self-preservation by the King, as bankers who were having trouble getting payment on their loans from a heavily indebted king would often times financially back rivals to the thrown in order to replace the delinquent government with a regime that could/would pay back the debt.

Their writing supposedly has an elegance, flow and beauty far exceeding anything the other has, and it's food by far better to me. They have always been more interesting (2me) from a cultural stand point. Because the Ashkenazi are the caricature of the orthodox Jew in popular media, and while the non-orthodox can often pass as eastern European, the Shepardim had the trapping of Arabs (at least in the old days). With robes and turbans and not beaver pelted, nor black hats, or black garb. They always seemed more authentic to what you read in the OT and so they had a difference resonance.
