They possibly could but going out in large groups unnecessarily increases the chances of catching it
I also think it would be easier to social distance in WalMart than standing shoulder to shoulder with a congregation of 1500 for an hour

This man is not a Christian, he is doing this to make a name for himself, not because he cares for his congregation & community

Dang, no wonder you're upset. I would never live there.

Just curious, are you advocating that nothing be closed and we all go on with our lives? If so, that's fine, I'm just curious how you would handle this problem.

So if the pastor where to test positive for Covid-19 and held church while being positive is he in violation of the law? i ask because i just saw an interview with the pastor and Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil told him to get tested he didn't sound well at all. When this church see a rise in infected members who have been infecting there communities this turns into a giant shite storm.

nothing in the Constitution or SCOTUS precedent? Just your understanding of things?

I think I get where you’re trying to go with it with negative rights and everything reserved to the people but that which is specifically granted to the government but I’m not sure we’re quite there.

But then you give us this line about but you’re not quite sure here because you don’t know the details?

You're not quite there yet, you need to go educate yourself.

Maybe you should let others figure out what is best for them. I mean, I don't think the world is safe from medical personnel not being in strict quarantine after working on infected patients... duhhhh.

Let people do what they want, they are not being forced to do anything or go there.

Church is a necessity to Christians

According to the church in Florida who's pastor got arrested, they were going "above and beyond" with seating precautions, etc.

No doubt.

I replied into the thread, after reading a number of posts.

DO you think it's a hoax?

For the record, I was more referring to something quoted from the pastor:
quote:

Spell added that government authorities were throwing away the nation's Constitution under a "COVID hoax" that hasn't had the level of medical toll and death that, he says, experts had initially predicted would happen at this point. He called the fears about the virus that have been propagated were a "politically motivated scheme to shut the doors on America's churches and we refuse to shut our doors."

Also for the record, this guy's a nut. We had a car break down on the road not long after that church opened, around 6 pm. Pushed it into the parking lot and called a tow truck.
A deputy showed up and said he called and said we cut the chain to the gate (it was open), and wanted us charged with trespassing. THAT'S the spirit of Christian fellowship this frickwad embraces.

The deputy took one look at the chain, saw it wasn't cut, wished us luck and drove away.

I’m trying but you won’t help me. You just say the Magna Carta. Link me to a law review article or something so we can speak the same language

This really irritates me. This, folks, is why our constitution is doomed...basically, what is being said in this quote is I don't care about my freedoms, but I certainly don't care about yours.

This earth is over a billion years old...does any one know a single person that is a billion years old? The point is no one is getting out of this world alive.

We are so concerned with the years in our lives that we care absolutely nothing about the life in our years. We're willing to sacrifice anything and everything if the government protector would just promise to keep us safe and healthy.

Our founding fathers pledged "our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor" for the freedoms they sought...we are handing them over without so much as a fight...we may as well simply join hands and walk peaceably into the gas chambers.

I have a suggestion...if everyone is so concerned about death, why don't we just outlaw cars...millions more are killed by reckless drivers on US roads each year.

There, I'm off of my soap box.

What law are you referring to? Was there some legislation that I missed?

Fed courts are closed, baw. You can’t legally challenge the government if there’s no court to challenge it in.

No I didn't, I told you where to start your education i.e. Magna Carta, then you should probably move on to the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, than maybe if you are really interested... pull your head out of your arse and read your State Constitution.

But you're not here to learn anything.

How hard of a concept is it to understand. We are all being inconvenienced. All of us. The more dipshits like this pastor ignoring social gathering, the more likelihood of this thing dragging out.

That's it. End of story. Stop being a whiny bitch with all of this whoa is me "government is trying to take away all our liberties, grab your guns and pitch forks and meet me at Sonic for the revolution"

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

One is in the Bill of Rights the other is a stern guideline? What is there to debate?

And enforce that how? Civil rights don't just disappear because the local government says it does.

This is completely and totally outrageous.

so you’ve created the framework of “private rights versus public rights”,are discussing it here but have also said you’re not sure of the details of this situation so not sure where you stand on it, but won’t link us to anywhere you got this private versus public idea, and we’re the ones with our heads in our asses?
