Hank lives to impress his peers. Superficial, materialistic, autistic.

Approval is better than truth in his circles. He also doesn't understand that between two extremes is a hell of a lot of territory.

My wife gets excited for Santa Fe when we head south. I'm always just waiting for Whataburger patty melts and HEB brisket queso tacos.

HEB is woke, sadly

And who cares?

In this case, probably HEB shoppers who don’t align themselves with so-called woke issues. It stinks when a person/company/organization you support shows itself to be a (financial) backer of causes with which you disagree.

Obviously it happens regularly on both sides of the political and ideological aisles.

I’m a huge supporter of HEB; they’re the only grocer with whom I’ll shop. But their political foundation (H. E. Butt) has previously backed such movements and events as BLM and “family friendly” drag shows (Texas Scorecard).

It bums me out, I won’t lie.

But not unlike Amazon (from whom I receive at least one delivery daily), I haven’t jumped on the boycott bus. Both entities are very firmly ensconced in my everyday existence. But I have to pick my fights, and going to war with HEB and/or Amazon aren’t battles I’m willing to wage.

I’m not arguing anyone should agree with my opinions; I’m just sharing my reality.

I would put money on it that he does the bitch slapping, if you know what I mean.

EKG is a peach, and I think that I can speak for many people in telling you to “frick off” with the personal attacks on her.

I have a natural food store next door to me. I shop there. Strangely they're less pushy about child tranny shite than the corporate stores.

I shop locally because I know the people, they're good folks and the big stores prices are as high as the natural food stores today.

Alaskan Amber.
Apologies, that is a pretty decent beer, even if a bit low gravity for my taste (5.3%).

Altbier is an unusual style, but my score for that beer on Untappd was 3.5 stars (which is fairly high for me). I’ve not had one for a few years.

My “go to“ every day beer is also a local… Devils Backbone Tripel from Real Ale down in Blanco (8.1%).

The only thing I boycott, is Hollywood. No industry is more shitty.

Everyone should, but most people can't make themselves do it.

My pop didn't let us have a TV in the house until we were teens, and then only for sports.
It was the best gift my parents ever gave to me.

Y’all need to add a low-crown (low profile) cap

I purely hate high crowned ball caps.

That’s awesome; I’m envious!

One of the biggest reasons I shop HEB is their unwavering support of Texas farmers, Texas small companies and entrepreneurs, Texas producers, and Texas causes. The support they gave my Houston following Hurricane Harvey was invaluable.

That said, much of their conduct leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

But your point about small mom & pops vs corporations is absolutely well taken.

I’m pretty sure they have ‘em.
When throwing up those links/photos, I noticed several caps available at TNM meetings/events aren’t listed on the website.
I’ll definitely pass along the comment!

Isn’t Rice Epicurean still family owned?

Whenever I am in Houston, I always stop in there to grab a few unusual items. 40 or 50 years ago, the Rice stores were my grandmother’s “go to” store.
