Parking lot looks too small for our rig, but we love stopping places like this when we're traveling or snowbirding.

Be sure to go in the late fall or early winter. Their seasonal beers are far better (IMO) than their regular offerings, and the Oktoberfest and Winter Warmer are only available that time of year. A lot of their really fun beers are only available in the brewery.

In the warmer months, they do a Saison that is pretty good, but that is not a beer style that appeals to many people.

The Warmer has a Hell of a kick to it. Don’t plan on driving very far after having too much of it. Be careful, because it does not TASTE as boozy as a lot of high gravity beers. It will sneak up on you.

bombshell blonde used to be one of my favorites, but i dont care for it as much anymore. i dont know if they changed the formula or if my tastes changed, but it seems different now.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that the regulars told the owner they would rather not see a shite show in their local watering hole.

its within the realm of possibility, i suppose...but i find it pretty unlikely.

I could say a great deal about this subject; for the sake of brevity, I’ll try to truncate the saga by offering several bullet points:

- SSBC has been anything but “apolitical” in the past (I have the receipts).
- Defiance Press (publishing company) had an event—featuring multiple authors—planned to be held at SSBC.
- A man acquitted of a crime happened to be one of the scheduled guests at said event.
- A few of SSBC’s patrons got wind of Rittenhouse’s planned attendance and promptly and publicly began clutching their hypocritical pearls.
- HEB (a retailer who stocks SSBC’s product) was made aware of the event and began issuing threats.
- Initially SSBC appeared to be a victim of mega-Goliath, HEB.
- It soon became obvious that wasn’t exactly the case.
- Defiance Press has since relocated their event to Lone Star Convention Center in Conroe (come on out!).
- SSBC has now shifted blame towards the Texas Nationalist Movement, claiming TNM’s appearance is the reason they scrubbed the event from their venue (they’re having a tough time keeping tally of their list of justifications).
- What we’ve learned: An event highlighting free speech doesn’t belong at a venue that doesn’t embrace free speech.
- SSBC and HEB have the right to their beliefs; I have the right to mine.

Real America’s Voice video (YouTube) from last night, discussing SSBC’s cancellation of the Rally Against Censorship.

I leave you with a video clip (FOX 7 Austin) and photo of a plane flying over the Texas Capitol during Governor Abbott’s inauguration this week:

Just in case EKG has left the building, she lives and works in Houston (as you know, less than an hour from Conroe) and is also active in the Texas nationalist movement.

She may well have been involved in organizing this very event.

If she says that she has personal knowledge, you can absolutely believe her.

We generally pass through that area between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Appreciate the suggestions.

Breweries tend to attract fart sniffers anyway. They were great 20 years ago, but they're pretty much milquetoast today.

Lots of basic bitches make vacations just to see a micro brewery. Rubes.

I’m a member of the Texas Nationalist Movement’s Leadership Team.
Our organization’s president was invited to speak at Defiance Press’s censorship rally (formerly to be held at SSBC).
For obvious reasons, he’s been kept abreast of the very fluid situation regarding the event; he’s passed along the updates to us.

I predicted pre-trump that the lefts next great project would be to take down free speech.

The term is now considered a conspiracy theory in leftist circles.

The HEB stores in south Texas, with the in-house tortilleria, are the bomb.
