They didn’t say. They tried to imply it was homicides using data prior to 2018.

Almost 2/3 gun deaths are suicides. While tragic, those have absolutely nothing to do with my 2nd Amendment rights.

Pretty much.

Are they going to ask for common sense rope control or car exhaust control too?

A suicide is a suicide. A gun being used is just a choice of method and not the gun’s fault.

~ 90% of those deaths are murders in the 15 - 19 age group, and ~ 8% are suicides in the same age group.

In adults, yes, but in people ages 1-19 that number is reversed and it's only about 30% suicides.

But as usual, the left us using large broad numbers to make tragic, isolated events seem like a national pandemic.

What percentage is black on black inner city gun crime?

Probably 95-% of it.

I love to see dems like you so blatantly dishonest.

Also, we need to understand that the data was collected during the COVID lockdown years. Hence why there's a drop in vehicular deaths. And, most likely a rise in suicides, due to mental health issues that weren't treated probably due to the lockdowns.

Less kids in those age ranges died from cancer, drug ODs, and auto accidents?

Less died in 2020 from auto accidents because teen driving was down considerably due to the pandemic.

Accidental poisonings (read primarily overdoses) were up 83%. They just had a lot of ground to make up on gun suicides and homicides.

In a normal year. I wouldn’t extrapolate that to 2020 without data.

It was from a recent report that included "kids" from age 0 to 24.

Take out the 18-24 demographic they include in the stat, guns are way down on the list of cause of death.

It was just a blatant lie.

Edit- here's the topic about it on the board last week LINK /

Read the link in my post on the 1st page. 3rd to last post...

Within the numbers for adults, 65% of those gun deaths were the result of suicides, while 30% were from homicides. For teens and kids, those percentages are roughly flipped.

Guns became the leading cause of death among children and teens in 2020, killing more people ages 1 to 19 in the U.S. than vehicle crashes, drugs overdoses or cancer.
Those lockdowns didn’t work out like you planned.

Or did they?

OK dumbass! You people need to get it through your thick skull:

Guns don't kill people, people kill people!

So take these BS stats and shove it where the sun don't shine!

Subtract the gang members and suicides

I never want to be accused of sticking up for this dipshit president, but it was more of a blatant abuse of a broad number than it was a lie... Which is what the left love to do.

Throw out these horrid numbers to get bleeding heart reactions, meanwhile the actual percentage is microscopic to the broad numbers they're touting.
