It’s time to take a break from the internet. Maybe buy a horse and go live in the mountains.

Stop living in a fantasy world. As to that, I have more land than you could ever dream of.

It’s cute that you think politicians care about you though. Really, it is.

Politicians and their economist love talking about the trickle down effect on the economy for everything. But, do these numbers reflect the trickle up affect of the payroll costs. If minimum wage is not $15/hr, the employees now making $12 will want more than minimum wage. The employees in the $15-18 will need/want $20-25+....

Nah man. People with marketable skills will totally be okay with making only a dollar or two more than the guy cleaning bathrooms at McDonald’s.

I don’t think that, something has to be done about wage stagnation though. The middle class is disappearing.

900k people get a “net positive” while 1.6 million lose their jobs, which is a net negative

No, the 900k number is people who would be lifted from poverty. The report says that income would increase by about $500 billion overall, with $170 billion lost due to loss of employment. So a net positive of $330 billion. That's more money for working families, but some of you guys don’t stop and think about anything, you’re just against it if the blue team is for it.

Can you provide an example of the government effectively increasing the labor force participation rate with a federal incentive?

The middle class is disappearing due to government interference and regulation.

Your solution to fix this...... is more government and regulation.

It doesn’t take a phd in economics to know that a 50% raise for all minimum wage workers (with the same work output) means big problems.

you mean, the same people who don't believe that Trump really won and that Dems poisoned the system to get what they wanted?

Nobody working, everyone living on fiat currency handouts.

Them pesky facts.

It'll never stop the Liberals and their beliefs that $15 should be the minimum wage...for at least a year or two...then they'll want it to be $20.

No it's disappearing due to the price of everything outpacing inflation, except labor.

Until the costs of goods and taxes go up.

One thing that I didn't see covered is the effect on the calculation of the FPL. 900K out of poverty according to the 2020 FPL, but the FPL is undoubtedly going to increase with the increase in cost of goods and services. So what's that net look like in 2021, 2031?

Even if there are net-positive outcomes, the truth is that that $500 billion is not going to be realized as disposable income. Employers simply aren't going to take a 12 figure bath. It all sounds good until you're paying $12 for a 6-piece McNuggets.
