Well that sounds fake but I'll add it to my list to learn about.

It’s not fake. I don’t call myself that, but I believe in God without believing in any institutional religion. I don’t believe in the divinity of Christ, nor in the divinity of the Old Testament. I was raised a Christian, and I see much to be admired in the wisdom of that religion…and that of the Hindu faith, Muslim, Jewish, etc. But I believe that all of those, and others, were invented by men.

To me, God is the answer to the question: From where did we originate?

I like to judge everyone equally and the Catholics get a pass on this board.

It gets in the way of blaming Jews for everything.

Biden, the worst president on immigration and showered with his young daughter is also a Catholic. Go figure.

The Catholic Church was founded in the year 31AD by Jesus Christ. Some say it "officially" began with the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostolic College. That is when the public ministry of the Our Lord's Catholic Church "officially" began.

The three pillars of Protestantism are: 1) the Bible, the whole Bible, and nothing but the Bible, 2) Justification by Faith alone, and 3) the Universal priesthood of the believers.

Sigh. I just wish the Church had just granted Martin Luther a sabbatical, instead of excommunicating him. But then that's just me.

Before the Bible ever existed, there was the Authority. Had it not been for those Catholic Monks painstakingly transcribing the Bible one copy at a time our Protestant brothers wouldn't have a Bible to beat Catholics over the head with. The Bible is a child of the Catholic Church - a gift to all mankind.

Some things cannot be denied.

I guess it can’t be denied that some people say that, but is what they say true? That can certainly be denied. Everything about the Catholic faith can, and is, hotly denied. And the same is so about every other religion. Of course, most of them claim that their belief system cannot be denied.

I visited the Vatican a couple of years ago. Incredible security and some really big walls and gates. Hypocrisy from the Catholic Church as usual.

Just curious, since, technically, The Vatican is its own country. How many Muslim immigrants have THEY let in?

Not many considering the almost 40 foot stone walls surrounding it and armed gates

To curse the Catholic Church, is to curse God. The Catholic Church is Our Lord's Bride. You should never insult a man's wife, eh?

Be nice.

Just say, "I don't understand Catholic theology". It makes you look merely ignorant, rather than just plain stupid, and also less bigoted.

I am not cursing the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church has lost it's way. Pope Francis was an evil man more intent on pushing socialism than salvation.

This was the last Pope who was truly a Godly man. This man was respected worldwide.

I can assure you, you are the one who is ignorant of Theology.

I fully understand Catholic Theology. I simply don't believe 75% of their dogma.

Jesus did not found any church. Not yours. Not mine. Jesus brought us salvation and redemption through the word of God, and through his blood spilled upon the cross. Mortal men founded the churches. Every single one of them

To be clear, Luther had some valid points that the Church corrected, BUT he also committed some real major heresies like denying the validity of most of the sacraments (which were Christ's gift to the Church), sola scriptura and sola fide (both of which lack biblical support), that man lost his free will because of original sin, etc. These heresies, he refused to recant which resulted in his excommunication. Excommunication is not a permanent state. It can be reversed after the heresies have been recanted so the ball was in Luther's court at all times.

These two, according to the Bible, are contradictory. So, no you do not understand not only Catholic theology, but any Christian theology.

Show me the Bible scripture that says Jesus founded the Catholic Church.

I'll wait.

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

~Matthew 16:18

There has been an unbroken line of Apostolic succession from Peter to the current Pope. Jesus did not give us a Bible, that came after his Ascension,. He gave us a Church, and left it in Peter's hands to carry out, and every successor of Peter.

Now to address your point concerning John 3, I was born again, at the moment of my baptism. At my baptism, the stain of original sin was taken from me and I entered into the realm of God. I reaffirmed this baptismal gift at my confirmation.

In masses there is messaging that we should understand the plight of the migrants. It is a message that starts at the top. And for a parishioner I am conflicted. Because if we, for religious reasons, are to be tolerant of the illegal immigration of millions and make space for them. Then why can't the same reasoning be used to allow a billion more to come in when the next democrat takes over. In this instance I wish the church would stay out of the world of politics and how we should reasonably and seriously run a country.
If billions were give the chance to come to the US, they would come.

He doesn't mention the Catholic Church.

He was talking about the church I grew up in.

See how that works?
