Yeah, Trump went to Davos to thumb his nose at all those elitist assholes and Carville interprets that as cozying up to them

I think Carville was speaking to how you could spin the trip as a political positive for a Democratic candidate, not necessarily providing fact based report.

Well...tell him to say hello to Tulsi Gabbard when he gets out to the cornfield.

At least Carville gets it. Hopefully, nobody listens to him.
No worries about that. He's old and he's white so these clueless chucklefricks will dismiss every word he says.

Agree with AOC. Who gives a frick what Carville has to say? Dude is laughably out of touch and should just become a Republican already.

Well, I’m not sure I’d say he is an idiot. His thoughts here are right on and I hope like hell the Dims don’t listen to him.

The Trump Davos thing was as spin-zone as can be.

I do think he’s probably onto something that the GOP might have impaired itself longer term with the cult of Trump, but hopefully it’ll revert to something less Keynesian and protectionist once Trump is out in 2025 while retaining some of the conservative items of his agenda (immigration, etc.). Also they would do well to continue to treat the media and and coastal elites as the enemy.

The Dems are too self-absorbed to understand.

But, if a true Blue Dog Democrat similar to Carville ran, DJT’s victory margin would lessen.

F Carville, it is shite like him that helped send the Democrats down the road to perdition, and have damaged the Republic. He wants power for those arse clowns. There is no moderate Democrat.

Eighteen percent of the population controls 52 Senate seats

I've heard him mention this a few times but have yet to figure out what 18% he's referring to. I've looked at GOP controlled state populations vs total national population as well as % of GOP voters compared to total national voters, nothing seems to line up even closely.

Carville isn't wrong but I don't think anyone in power in the party really cares because to them he's just another "old, white male", the thing they (the current powers that be at the head of the Democrat party) believe they have been gathered together to fight against. The party has moved extremely Left and looks Hell-bent on doubling down on that movement.

LINK

Over the last 20 years we can see a distinct shift in Democrat voters from a balance between Conservative and Liberal with a hefty Moderate majority to now almost half of Democrats considering themselves Liberal/Very-Liberal at the expense of both the Moderate and Conservative groups. As this continues (and there's no reason to think it will not when the likes of an AOC or Ilhan Omar or Bernie Sanders can now be power brokers in the party) the likelihood that the party will ever try to move back to the middle for even a temporary appeal to voters becomes more and more remote.

To put it a little differently, Liberals have pretty much made the zealotry of Wokeness the de facto religion of the Democrat party. Zealots are hard-liners and as the party moves more and more into Wokefulness, the ability to even entertain anything "less" than a Liberal stance within the party will be seen as a heresy.

I know right?! He's only one of the most successful political strategists of the last 30 years. Who gives a frick what he has to say?

God bless you, Cole. Watching you and people like you destroy the Democrat party is just a joy.

Carville is still a liberal wack job...

But at least he has been consistent to his wack job stances throughout the years.

He sees the implosion for what it is. He calls it out. And he will probably get shite on for it by the extremists that he's calling out.

In some ways you are right. He is out of touch in thinking that the DNC is still a party for the majority. Admitting to himself that the party he spent his life working for is becoming a fringe party probably is a tough pill to swallow.

Carville is probably the sharpest knife in the Dem's drawer, but that doesn't mean they will listen to him.
