Other than an urban environment, not sure why anyone would want an EV.
Someone said earlier that people that don’t want an EV had been propagandized against the EV. Not the case, people that don’t want an EV understand it doesn’t work for their lives.
I think it is the pro EV (EV for everyone) crowd that has been propagandized by the left and their global warming/climate change agenda.

Yup, gotta admit I'm intrigued by the ramcharger coming out next year. 130kw generator tied to a fully electric drive train. Supposed to have around 100 miles range battery only full charge and 690 with battery+generator and a full tank. All with 14k towing.
My first reaction
Maybe I'm wrong but I like my wife's accord hybrid. 2.0l engine when you need power and 52mpg around town when you don't

It can make a difference in more urban environments especially during the summer when the air can become rather unhealthy.
So the city dwellers get to redirect their coal emissions to the suburban and rural areas because they don’t want to breathe their own emissions?
And this after they voted to kill the production of clean nuclear energy and eliminate new petro production sites via permitting and other government regs?
Given the need ultimately to store the dangerous battery byproducts created when they are no longer useful, the slave conditions used to mine to rare earth metals, the government tax credits needed to make them viable and our dependency on China to supply them to us how is this a win for anyone except China and the eco lobbyists in DC?

I've also noticed some auto manufacturers are back to 0 percent for 60 months and $5500 rebates for some gasoline vehicles. It looks like they fully expect the Fed to drop the Feds fund rate by a lot before the end of 2024.

Yeah because pointing out his hybrid with a 1.5kWh battery is a piece of shite and exactly the type of pieces of shite we would keep getting for a long time is somehow religious. You guys are fricking retarded.

They’re just hammering you with a fee to buy down the interest. There’s no such thing as interest that cheap right now.

I read this week though that sales of EV's rose in the 4th qtr. So I do think they are selling them but just not at the rate they anticipated.
But I also think dealers have a lot of cars not moving on the lots. A year ago, lots were empty, especially the truck lots. Now they are filled up. This is why the financing deals are coming back.
Cars increasing in price by 30% the last 2 years is a big issue as well.

The gubment is offering up to $7,500 tax credit to move them.
Only certain ones to certain people:

The availability of the credit will depend on several factors, including the vehicle's MSRP, its final assembly location, battery component and/or critical minerals sourcing, and your modified adjusted gross income (AGI).

Yep, the norm is about half the max amount cited, depending on the model.

Tesla met with success, but then herd of auto manufacturers all rushed the EV entrance at once.

Rebates and tax credits are now over 20,000, and they aren't selling.
Yes they are selling. EV sales are increasing a lot year over year. EVs were 7.2% of US vehicles sold in 2023. They were 5.9% in 2022. The growth in sales is less than they thought, thus the supply is outstripping demand, but the sales are growing each year.
