What's your degree in and do you do anything related to it now.?

How are your peers from the same major doing compared to your experience.?

This would adversely affect minorities. You have the wrong attitude. Our system needs to be expanded, and entrance exams eliminated. Everyone has a right to a college education. In addition, college level education programs need to be adjusted to account for minority experiences and hardships. A system based on merit is not equitable.

Why don't we just give everyone a college degree. Eliminate the schooling part of it, that's too hard for alot of people anyway. Just give everyone a degree. That solves alot of problems, does it not?

That would be unfair. I'd be ok implementing this for minorities from disadvantaged backgrounds however.

Giving degrees to white people, especially white males, does nothing to address white privilege or the patriarchy.

Withhold degrees from them and make them work skilled or unskilled labor jobs then. Somebody's gotta clean gutters, build houses, pick up garbage, let it be the uneducated (because they have no degrees) white man.

Business requiring degrees at unprecedented levels, even for entry level positions, is a BIG part of the problem. They are reducing HR spend, and basically making college, not their own processes, the filter for applicants. All while increasing the pool of applicants. The private sector has taken advantage of the point of college in a pretty bad way.

What a backwards way of thinking.

Who said the scenario had to be fair? There are tons of people who receive benefits now that people in the past didn't

Democrats and Progressives constantly scream about unfairness.. yet they want to enact unfair practices. All it does is eliminate accountability and responsibility.

What? You don't believe you are stealing from taxpayers? You are.

And if you will steal you will lie.

You can call it what you want but at some point it's going to happen. Might as well get it over with now and learn from it.

why?

and how would it even work? this is the classic leftist policy that sounds great but implementation would be horrible

do you really want to leave all these people with huge IRS-tax bills for the written-off debt? How in the hell do you avoid that issue within any sort of rational policy (especially in light of the tax doe)

what is the cutoff? so we bail out people who graduated from 2001-2018 and the next generations end up in the same position? how do you deal with that issue short of universal college?

so you believe in a policy that punishes people who sacrificed to benefit those who refuse to do so? this is your policy position?

We live in a country where you are expected to pay back what was lent to you. It is your own fault if you get a degree in something that will not provide you an income that can sufficiently supply funds to pay down your debt while still providing you a solid standard of living. Should businesses be forced to accommodate customers who didn’t read the print before they signed?

Why? Why SHOULD it happen? Give me one compelling reason that student loans should be written off. Other than "They can afford to pay them back".

I mean, he's not completely off base. For example, to get a CPA license you need 150 hours of college credit. That's 30 hours over a traditional 4 year degree. You essentially have to get a masters degree or the equivalent of one just to be a fricking accountant. It's wild.

Meanwhile, your superiors don't even have that much education. How does that make sense?
