I have 18 plus years in Medical Device Sales and have customers in Canada for over 10 years now.

People, understand this;
There is a 18 month waiting list for Elective Procedures. Total Knee Replacement, Spine Surgery to remove herniated disc, Colonoscopy. Elective, refers to any thing not Emergent. Why in the world do people want what is going on in Canada.

True Story. I had a doctor close his practice for 6 months so he could catch up on surgical candidates that were in so much pain that needed surgery. 3 days a week did surgery and saw no patients just to close the window from 18 months waiting to 6 months. What in the world do they want Canadian Healthcare for.

My sister-in-law (no pics) is a pediatric nurse in Canuckistan....she says their healthcare system is not that it's all cracked up to be.

Canada has an excellent pay as you go system for the wealthy.
Plus there’s always the “horrible” US just south of the border.

Because they don't understand what's going on in Canada. They think it's "free" and free is automatically good.

We need to work out some sort of trade deal where for every US citizen going to Canada for cheap prescription drugs, one Canadian citizen can come down here and get a much faster surgery.

The only thing I'd like from their system is the prescription drug pricing.

Is it 18 months or 18 weeks? Both are extremely long waits but FOX was saying 18 weeks. Just wondering.

Until you need or want something that isn't on their dime.

Canadians are more worried about govt healthcare in US than Americans. US is where they go if they can’t get healthcare at home. They have businesses that broker the deal there.

Inexpensive
Quick
Quality

You can only ever get two. And if it’s a bureaucratic system you will be lucky to get one.

I've got friends that are doctors up there with relatives that are pharmacists.

You get what's on formulary. It changes from time to time. Liked what was on it before but it was changed because the government can save money on this one instead? Tough luck.

Even that's not great for everyone. I know a business owner in Canada who is quite well off but also past her prime. She was diagnosed with cancer and Canadian Healthcare gave her pain meds and said get your affairs in order, you're going to die. Instead she came to the US for treatment and is in full remission and leading a productive life.

A friend of mine had a heart attack and they did an angioscope to open the blockage. He was then given an appointment for 60+ days later to come back to have a stent inserted. I was incredulous and asked WTF they didn't do the stent when they were in there ANYway? He just smiled and said Canadian Healthcare.
