It makes no sense economically and if he wants any power during his last two years, he can’t have a struggling economy. But he will get it with tariffs

Some people just dont understand economics

BTW, Canada just caved on the electricity tariffs. After a whole 36 hours. And youre worried about 2 years from now

How much federal money did those companies get during this same time period?

Oh for sure. "Green energy" companies would almost universally cease to exist without government subsidies, which should absolutely end.

Why didn't we see a huge increase in US production when Trump put a 30% tariff on imported solar in 2018? Explain.

30%, that is a lot.

Results often aren't immediate.

So Joe Bidens tariffs were a good thing?

I have no idea. Personally I view green energy as a waste of the government's time.

The argument that was made was that tariffs did not increase solar manufacturing in the USA because solar manufacturing tariffs were started in January of this year, and instead some other imaginary thing Joe Biden did lead to the increase. That argument is false.

Additionally, describing these as "Joe Biden's tariffs" is false. These tariffs were put in place before Biden. He put them on hold and then had to restart them.

No. You made the case that Biden's IRA had nothing to do with the huge 4x spike in solar panel production 2023-2024.

You said it was due to tariffs.

Your initial argument is false.

I voted for Trump. I want to see him succeed. And what you call caving is going back to exactly where we were before the tariff pissing contest.
It’s poor economics. And it does nothing but hurt the American consumer.

For far too long our leaders have allowed our businesses to operate at a disadvantage on the global market due to uneven tariffs and VAT on US goods. Those leaders were not putting the American people and our businesses as their priority. It seems as if our current leader is putting us first. I applaud that effort; even if it causes temporary discomfort.

Should we start digging into the amount of foreign aid given to countries

All countries who are not in debt, $37,000,000,000,000 should pick up the slack on paying foreign aid to those they deem worthy of it.
