well; illegal aliens can't vote (in most states and areas) & should also be excluded proportionately (logically speaking that is)
Why? That clause only applies to citizens.

; the 14th was for freed slaves and was never intended to be used as a tool to allow the US to be overrun with illegal aliens
Intent and text are 2 different things
If the text doesn't match the intent, you can change the text (via Amendment)
If society changes and the original text could not have envisioned the changes, you can change the text (via Amendment)

I agree that's part of the explanation for open borders. Having illegals vote can affect everything but the Electoral College. But illegals don't even have to vote to affect the Electoral College. Illegals were being preferentially sent to Blue states/cities. By using illegals to increase the number of "citizens" counted by the census of Blue states, one could increase the number of Electoral College votes of Blue states.
Bingo… with the added bonus of being able to vote for them with mail in ballots.

You're right. I forgot MAGA was all about the "Living Constitution" these days.
One thing is fore sure.. you win every argument with a strawman on here that I've seen.

And before people melt, just remember we have been counting non-citizens for these purposes since day 1. The original Constitution was specifically written by our Founders to specifically do just this. It's not some crazy new idea of modernity.
Congress threw out the 1920 Census because they didn’t like the influx of immigrants changing apportionment.

will this shift power back to patriotic, American loving states in the US Congress
I sure hope so.
In the 2024 election the Texas House delegation split 23 Republicans to 13 Democrats. I fully expect in 2026, thanks to Dan Patrick, an increasingly unpopular Greg Abbott, plans to run Ken Paxton as the Republican nominee for senator, the passage of the BBB, and population shifts bringing in new Texans from blue states, Texas will have a house split 18:18 Democrats and Republicans and a new Democratic senator.

Dems basically run the TX house now. It wouldn’t make much of a difference.

I'm referring to the Texas House delegation in Washington, not the Texas legislature

Due to urbanity more than anything.
And what was the response?
quote:
Republicans in Congress saw the arrival of immigrants as a direct threat. One member from Kansas had a chart suggesting that the counting of non-citizens nationally had an impact on the number of seats apportioned to 16 states. He proposed a constitutional amendment to bar the census from counting anyone who had not become a naturalized citizen. Members from Kentucky and Tennessee said they wanted to do the same.

My bad I read it too fast. I might remind you this though: Trump won 242 of Texas' 254 counties. Starr County in South Texas voted for a Republican for the first time in over 100 years.

Travis, Bexar, El Paso, Dallas, Harris, Fort Bend and Williamson counties are all getting bluer faster than rural counties are becoming red. And about 60% of Texas's population lives in just those seven counties I listed

You sure about that? I don't think they've ever ruled on those arguments/merits
So reading the analysis of scotusblog, looks like the SCOTUS 'punted' on this.

Once again, it was the intentional running out the clock, aka John Roberts.
There is more than one way to skin a cat.
*Getting the southern US/Mexican border under control. Check
*Securing the southern border. Work in process, lots of work has been done but there is more critical work to be done.
Huge resources have now been allocated for physical barriers, man power and lots and lots of tech.
*Cutting off the freebies to illegals. This is huge. They are coming here because our 'leaders'(both parties, aka Jorge' Dubya Bush) have been more than generous to them with our hard earned tax dollars.
* Mass deportations. Right now, thousands are being deported by the day. Criminals, drug runners, rapists, murderers are being rounded up and moved out.
I have heard that the scuttlebutt is that a least 1 million illegals so far have either 'self deported' or have been outright deported.
Lots of other measures are being undertaking.
If I am advising DJT, I would have him issue an EO(just like obama/pedojoe did but the opposite way) on asking the citizenship question on the 2030 US Census.
Get the ball rolling right now. Charge the gate. Start pressuring Congress.
The clock is ticking.
