No. Who would possible support that besides Dick Cheney and John Bolton?

But why are American taxpayers footing the bill for something Trump promised Mexico for pay for. Legit question how is this not a lie from Trump?
So you are upset that he tried to get Mexico to pay for the wall? It would have been better in your eyes if he just was ok with taxpayers paying for it from the beginning? The lengths you all will go to find a "lie" is amazing

How can that be as the new trade deal isn't even in effect as it has not been ratified?
In the case of my family, they began pressing respective business partners in Mexico for better deals DURING the negotiations. Basically, a better deal for those products and services in both contract terms and time frame. Why wait to start saving money? I would imagine my family (industrial comstruction supplies and large scale construction) aren't the only American business owners to take advantage of these circumstances. BTW, business is booming and the US is making bank on the tax stream.

It was a central campaign promise that he waffled on. If he wanted us to pay for it don't say at every single rally that Mexico is paying for it. And if we as taxpayers are paying for it I certainly would want to know if it is coming from military spending as opposed to separate legislation. I don't think its outrageous for me to have questions.

I love the "taking away money from the Defense Department" angle. Trump purposefully increased Defense spending in his budget for this exact reason.

Also, can I now assume this board is ok with Presidents (current AND future ones) using executive orders to side step Congress and do what they want?
One day there will be a Democrat as President and if he wants to declare climate change an emergency and allocate funding neither side will have the credibility to stop him.

That was the Paris Accord.

If you arent willing to accept that Trump meant that Mexico was going to indirectly pay for the wall by way of various changes in policy and/or new policy then there's no sense in even attempting this conversation. That was what I understood him to mean from the very first moment I heard him say it. I cant imagine having thought that he meant that Mexico was going to issue direct payment earmarked specifically for a wall.

Have you seen the military’s budget? Lol. They easily lose 5 billion in the sofa cushions each year. Chump change well spent. If your sticking point on this issue is about campaign rhetoric, no one can help you. I really doubt that’s it. Keep playing coy looney toon. We see right through it.

So your concern is that a future Democrat is going to abuse EO's. Surely you jest. To me, that isn't a concern, it is an expectation. Do you even BHO?

Not in the next four years.

They will stick to this point until the president of Mexico gives Trump one of those big lottery checks with “the Wall” written on the memo line.

You are assuming I supported it when he did it. I did not. I was not an Obama kool-aid drinker.

What a melt you snow flake. I am asking reasonable questions but you cannot make a rational response you resort to name calling. Sad.
You are being disingenuous if you think the average Trump voter thought Mexico would pay in the form of increased tariffs, closing the trade deficit etc.

Only an idiot would think Mexico was actually going to write a check for the wall.
I always understood that it would be indirectly, in the form of trade imbalances, tariffs, better trade deals, fewer illegals coming over and sending back remittances, etc.

feels good man. They're back to "but Trump promised Mexico would pay for it."
So are we back to ignoring failed promises?

Ok here's a reasonable argument. Building 100 miles of wall using our military personnel will allow them to learn how to quickly build a wall should one be required anywhere in the world.
Is building a wall efficiently not an important military skill?
