My wife is from El Salvador. I recently talked with her good friends that still live there. He’s not universally loved by all law abiding citizens of El Salvador. While they say it’s remarkable how safe the country has become, most people know someone that they think is innocent that has disappeared into the black hole justice system. That obviously has upset their loved ones.
But, the overall opinion is that it takes broken eggs to make omelets and the safety/crime improvement cannot be overstated.

It’s what happens when the thugs are yanked out of society

The Left hates Bukele because he demonstrated that 'You don't have to live like this' to the world

Bukele needs restorative justice and judges that let violent criminals out on bond

To be fair, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re innocent. You see family on tv here claiming relatives are innocent when the evidence is clear the person is guilty of the crime

This is the cost of autocratic rule in a police state.
The problem with Bukele's reign is the current state. He's cleaned up the country and removed all the gang members (and some innocents) but hasn't loosened his grip and removed some silly laws that only make sense in a country in crisis (like the overregulation of tattoos and speech as threats against the population of being labeled a gang member and losing all rights).
This is why you can never trust the "we just need the power to remove the bad people" lies. NEVER trust someone who tries to sell you this bullshite. It hasn't worked out that way since Cincinnatus

I don't know if using cities where crime has dramatically dropped over the past 30 years WITHOUT dictatorial, right-erosion are the examples you want to cite.

I did not know this until your post
His father founded the first mosque in El Salvador
Reading his comments on the issue, I bet you could take his quotes, tell posters its Talarico, and have them dissect his blasphemy and deception

That I value rights?
Welcome to the 90s, in that case.

What about the right of regular people who just want to live their lives peacefully without having to worry about their neighborhood being overrun with violent criminals and gang members.
