He's not a great driver. But, he also hasn't (as far as I've seen) tried to be anything other than just a young driver out there competing.
Yesterday was the first time I saw him enjoying the attention. I think this event might ruin him, and change who he is.

Am I the only person who thought Bubba Wallace was white until seeing a picture? I thought maybe he was Rusty Wallace's son

I think Bubba's dad is white and his mom is mixed, but I can't confirm that.
I also think it's funny that when he got his start after Almirola got hurt, NASCAR tried to make it seem like Blaney, Larson, and Bubba were Los Tres Amigos, the new young guns blah blah blah. Then like 2 months ago Larson gets caught dropping an N-bomb on Twitch and they terminated him pretty damn quick

I thought Willy was great. A reporter asked him one time if he thought his parents naming him Willy T hurt him professionally. Jackie Robinson was a good player, disruptive on offense beyond his numbers sometimes. But, if not for the historical significance he brought to the game he would not have sniffed the Hall of Fame by today's standards While he was very good and great some seasons he only played 11 seasons No doubt he would have played 15 years if the color line had not existed and may very well have put up HOF numbers. According to Baseball Reference of the 10 players with similar career stats only one is in the HOF and he was an early selection when the competition was less.

And since then Larson won like 10 dirt races in a 2 week span. It’s a shame pc nascar he’s out of ride but bubba just pulled a publicity stunt and will benefit from it. Double standard.

Bubba is a pretty good driver. This is only his third full season in the Cup Series. Admittedly, the 43 car is not close to the best car on the track.

In 2017 when the then 43 car driver, Aric Almirola, broke his back in a crash Bubba Wallace filled in for several races and did well considering the situation and the fact that the car wasn’t that great. When Almirola changed teams after the 2017 season, Bubba was offered the ride due to his good performance while filling in.

Bubba is a good driver, as good as most on the circuit but not elite like Harvick, Logano, Busch and the like.
We can't really say how good he is because his equipment is absolutely shite. Put Harvick, Blaney or one of the top tier guys in that ride and they don't have a much better record.
When he was in trucks and the Xfinity series he was fairly competitive. I'm actually surprised he's gotten caught up in this mess. He's never been that outspoken like this before.
