I never understand why "Born in the USA" is consistently employed as a patriotic anthem. It is the complete opposite.

Because it’s built on a really catchy synth line that just sounds patriotic and the only lyrics folks pay mind to are in the chorus.
Many pro wrestlers used the song as an entrance theme in the years following its release; even Reagan used it at rallies.

Only if you allow him to be an insufferable little bitch.

I believe Springsteen sold his catalog not too long ago and now has "frick you" money.
And he chooses to use it bashing those who do not agree with him...not just Trump.
He's following the paths of Stern and Imus before him and has become a hateful old lesbian.

Meh. I don't know why Trump just doesn't ignore the guy.
99% of 'Merica has ignored Springsteen and his music since about 1993. His only path to relevance in 2026 is through Trump. If Trump ignored him, no one would know he even exists.

You are correct. This version really changes the tone and emphasizes the lyrics. Makes it come across completely different.

The same reason people play "The One I Love" at weddings.
They are artistically illiterate and don't care to pay attention.

Because Trump's fragile ego is incapable of ignoring a slight.

I wouldn’t give that POS the satisfaction of calling him boss. He is a communist and should have all privileges taken from him in our country. Go play in Russia or wherever there is Islam

And he gave how much to the little guy he claims to champion? Evil rich Republicans, right? Capitalism bad. People like Springsteen are the problem. Rich hypocrites.
quote:
A cornerstone of Springsteen’s philanthropy is his strict practice of tying his commercial success directly back to the local communities he visits. Since his landmark Born in the U.S.A. tour in 1984, Springsteen has dedicated a portion of the proceeds from every single concert to local food banks, veterans' support organizations, and regional charities in the host city. He regularly invites local advocates onto his stages, promotes text-to-donate campaigns, and routinely matches fan donations or leaves personal checks ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 behind to ensure regional soup kitchens remain funded.

Not a fan of that kind of music, but I found Bob Seger much better in the working class hero genre. He didn’t have the “New York” advantage Slicksteen had.

Springsteen is New Jersey. It’s like the opposite of New York
But I too prefer Seger

Springsteen is so very overrated.
He's like the U2 of whatever genre we're supposed to call his "music."

It’s not hard to not be an OT fig. Try it.

Springsteen is a coward! Admittedly did anything he could to avoid being drafted during Vietnam, yet he calls himself a patriot? For what? For joining in with liberals and condemning anything Trump does? He hates America, guys...and if you can't see that, maybe get to an eye docter.
