This question doesn't get asked enough. It makes me sad when people insist we need things like income taxes, drivers licenses, welfare, etc, etc, etc, as if they had existed forever. News flash, most of that shite that you claim to need didn't exist for the first 150 years or so of this country's history.

of our ~250 years of history, we've only had a department of education for 40 of them and our scores and academic achievement as a nation has done nothing but gone down since its inception.
there is nothing more permanent than a temporary government solution.
