They aren't putting money down to win the bet. They want the betting markets to reflect a state of the race that is favorable for their candidate since people constantly reference the odds regarding the state of the race. It's like buying ads. These same types of partisans pay off pollsters. Perception is reality, and the manipulation of voters are unending.
