No because they want the cash not the properties in terms of underwriting the bond.

Yeah I think this is the right move for Trump. Make them overstep.

Shakespeare himself could not have written this story arc.

Why aren’t Trump supporters donating more?

I don’t know the mechanics of this kind of BS but would her slimy arse just end up with liens on the property?

It means that he won’t be allowed to appeal and the judgment will be enforced IIRC.

Which is fricking horseshite because it was a default judgment and the trial was only to determine the damages.

There's no way he wouldn't come up with the bond if this were true. He's got to be baiting them.

Potential underwriters are seeking cash to back the bond, not properties, according to Trump’s lawyers.

If they seize any properties and trump wins the appeal NY will have a YUUGE damage suit again then for wrongful seizure

Former President Donald Trump can’t find an insurance company to underwrite his bond to cover the massive judgment against him in the New York attorney general’s civil fraud case, his lawyers told a New York appeals court.

Trump’s attorneys said he has approached 30 underwriters to back the bond, which is due by the end of this month.

“The amount of the judgment, with interest, exceeds $464 million, and very few bonding companies will consider a bond of anything approaching that magnitude,” Trump’s lawyers wrote. (Trump himself was fined $454 million; the $464 million includes the disgorgement for his adult sons Don Jr. and Eric.)

No.

It only means he cannot suspend the judgment pending the appeal.

He has an absolute right to appeal (otherwise, it's a blatant due process violation). But if he wants to prevent any action on that judgment while the appeal is pending, he has to post a bond.

this is a clown show of lawfare-duh. but didn't he already post bail on this?

can we see Leticia giving Trump Tower to all the illegals? all of them living in Baron's wing? Melania's dressing room?

how trifling that this is what she wants. as Kevin said, no real estate developer will do business there again so just form NYCity to Cally and cast them off into an ocean.

"The thugs in New York are stealing my property" is a great line on the campaign trail.

That's probably true. Is the issue that absolutely nobody will write the bond, or nobody will write it on his terms?

Also if he's so controlled by Russia, why haven't his Russian pals done some back alley deal through Deutsche Bank or whatever to guarantee this bond?

This is the kind of stuff Putin does in Russia.

The problem appears to be the size of the bond.

Not many companies will take $46.4m to risk a potential loss of $464m without him having the liquid assets to cover it as opposed to property.
