Do I think it's there on purpose? I'd hope not. Do I think a President who believed he was going to stay in office until the very end was rushed in pulling together documents to take with him and threw in some bad stuff on accident? Yeah, I could see that.

So, again, you'd be totally fine if the President took home information that related to troop movement thereby making it available for all? Because it's his decision to make alone.

Even if we did, the true source of the "leak" will never be revealed. Doubtful whoever signed that affidavit was the real snitch.

How can you be astounded without knowing the content? Do you think every classified document is a list of the names and locations of assets, and the launch codes?
Because I'm astounded by the implications of a blanket declassification order. I don't believe every classified document is the names of assets or launch codes, but if this standing order as reported is accurate then if that information ever left to the residence then it was declassified at that moment.

So either you believe this isn't a customary loophole for presidents working away from the WH and you admit most presidents must be spies by statute (aside from trump who is just clumsy), or maybe you're dramatizing it out of likely ignorance to the custom so as to work yourself into a frenzy.
I can't exactly tell which way you're going.

Never change Decatur. You’re convinced ya finally got him.
When everything plays out you’ll be proven wrong ….yet again.

Is there a statute that says top secret documents can't be taken to a residence by a president and retain their classification? I'm not aware of one so I'm truly interested.
The issue isn't the taking the documents from the white house, it's declassifying them.
The simple explanation would be that you keep things marked however they're marked with regards to confidentiality, then you either return them when your done with your work or you declassify them on a document-by-document basis where appropriate.

Lol at those who actually believe that

So you believe they’ll be a conviction?

Your impact is using fewer posts to show us that you’re an imbecile. Congratulations.

Mick, Decatur and the usual cast of characters are absolutely convinced they finally got him.
They’ll end up wrong as usual but then it’ll be on to whatever the next thing that can be drummed up.
They are the Wile E. Coyotes of the PT board.

He’s a joke. Posted here all the time until the turnip got elected, now he’s scared to say anything unless the topic is Trump. It’s a freaking anonymous forum. There are no consequences other than catching cyber-shite, and the Biden Brigade still ghosted as soon as the disaster started, which was a damned short time after he was sworn in.

So first of all, you are of the belief that Trump himself packed any of these documents to take with him, and that he was just too busy packing up other shite like his furniture to really pay close attention to the documents HE HIMSELF was packing up? "I really need to focus on those important papers, but the movers are scuffing up my favorite couch!"
Why do y'all keep imagining Trump in some room full of filing cabinets nefariously rubbing his hands together while deciding which super top secret documents he wants to leave the White House with? It's obvious in your posting that this is how you've imagined it...
In reality, there were dozens of people who did this for him. Do you now think he directed each of them to pack these super scary and dangerous documents?
ETA - second of all, you said earlier in the thread that the real danger was that ANYONE could submit a FOIA request for anything he's officially declassified when that's not how it works at all. The president has the ultimate authority on all classifications and can basically do as he pleases when it comes to such, there is no higher authority. And that includes the freedom of information act. Don't you think that millions of documents that former presidents have declassified, especially Trump, would've been FOIA-ed if it were that easy?

They've been at the site for over a year and, from Trump's own allies viewpoint, there have been discussions with the FBI about what documents need to be turned over.
Do I think Trump packed the documents himself? No. Do I think there was plenty of time for attorneys to have reviewed everything and discussed it with him afterwards to come up with a plan on keeping or returning them? Yes and by all accounts that should have happened/did happen.
And if it's just his subordinates that packed them up, that would have been the statement released - "My subordinates packed up things accidentally and they're back with the FBI". It wasn't.

Millions of declassified documents have been released to the public. Largely through FOIA requests.
You just say that's not how it works at all, but show me something that says that isn't true. Declassification removes the level of clearance needed to see a document.
Edit: Declassified Documents through FOIA Here's an example.
