I really don’t think it’s JD. He’s not a bad pick per se but he’s only 39, hasn’t been in the senate long, and comes from a state Trump will win by 10 points or more. I could be wrong ofc but if you’re not going to go with an outsider like Vivek Youngkin offers you a lot more in the election. Plus Vance worked at CNN for a time which the base won’t like. I lean Rubio as an insurance policy to the IC but hope I’m wrong. I truly wouldn’t mind Tulsi but optimally the VP sets up for who takes over as leader post trump and it won’t be her no matter what. As long as it isn’t burgum I dislike him more the more I find out.

Oh I don’t disagree. I’m tired of the geritocrasy leading us with no regard for the future. It’s just it’s his first true political role.

Maybe he's not VP maybe he's being asked to be part of his cabinet

I’d prefer a governor, there is a high chance they kill Trump and we need seasoned experience.

I will be disappointed. Vance wrote that book bashing his Appalachian roots and was a firm anti-Trumper before he ran for the Senate.

What would be his motivation to move to there from senate? Idk he could be being told he won’t be VP with the cars at his house. Him and Don Jr are extremely good friends and maybe wanted to tell him in person.

So why not pick someone like Vivek? If that’s your top quality in choice. I’d prefer Vivek

I love Vivek.

Just don’t think we should discount Vance because of his short time in politics

I personally agree. But many independents might not.

Leave him in congress Trump, you will need allies in congress, and JD gives you not one single more vote than you already have.

This would be a misstep imo, but since he's running against a corpse, maybe not a game breaker.

I heard Bergum could bring new tech money to the board but didn't realize it was this. That's disappointing

Have you actually read the book?

I feel you but he’s in the senate which Rs are almost certainly to settle with a +2. Whoever replaces Vance is unlikely to lower that to +1.
