"The EU is facing a real problem now that a new alliance has emerged within it. The Aug. 28 Hungary-Italy high-level meeting was a landmark event that seriously jeopardized European unity as those deep divisions emerged into the open. Budapest and Rome agreed to jointly oppose Brussels on the issue of migration. Expressing their determination to take a tough stance, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Italian Deputy Head of State and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini hit it off, creating what CNN called a Trojan horse within the European Union. The two agreed to jointly pursue their anti-immigration agenda prior to the European elections next May. Both slammed French President Macron for his stance on the problem. PM Orban described Macron as "the leader of the pro-migration parties in Europe today.” According to him, "There are currently two camps in Europe and one is headed by (Emmanuel) Macron."

One of my best friends is an older very successful Sicilian expat, he says it is difficult as it is for the Italian lower and middle classes with upward mobility stifled by socialism and a bloated government since forever. They certainly cannot afford a migrant class and the people will not stand for it.

I’m the last person to be overly dramatic or anything, but MAN if these types of stories don’t seem reminiscent of the same types that slowly led up to WWI and WWII.

You have issues occurring in the African theatre (south this time), Europe is a ticking time bomb, Russia has their hands in just about everything, and there’s a growing rift between the western powers and a major one in the Far East (China this time).

Not saying WWIII is imminent based off this one story or that it’s even going to happen soon, just that this feels like the slow roll up to it like the 10+/- years leading up to both world wars.

Well considering that before the end of WWII and the US coming in and big dicking everybody into acting right in Europe, there would be a general European war about once every twenty-fifty years. That’s just one more thing America did better than Europe. We made sustained peace.

Given today's Information and Technology, there is only one reason for any Nation that has generous Natural or Aesthetic resources, not form a sustainable and prosperous society. And that reason is some form of innate *defect* in the People themselves. Rampant, thoughtless and problematic reproduction comes to mind. Greed, and it's influence on a Nation's Leaders (per our own Nation) and Systematic Managers is a guarantee to dysfunction. And a laissez faire personal (Genetic?) attitude/indifference toward virtuous Principle like Rule of Law/Equal Justice is a poison pill for any System of governance.

Bottom line. The problems that plague the Nations that the Migrants flee from, are caused by the People (Migrants) themselves; and just like a communicable pathogen, those problems will be brought with them into the Nations that they flee to. We have Sub-Cultures and areas in our own Nation that are exemplary of this. Can't fool Mother Nature.

Gonna be hard to fix this minus a ton of hurt.

HRC would have started WW3 based on her words, the stage was set it just needed a spark. Imo it's not as dire as it was in 2016. China is making a hard turn toward communism and re-educating Christians, historically that doesn't bode well for them. Hungary gave the other european countries a peaceful solution to the migrant crisis by creating a buffer zone between the border and the actual state. Trump worked with Putin to dissolve the Syria situation. Don't get me wrong we aren't out of the woods yet but we are headed in the right direction. Trump is a President on the lines of TR as in he is an unknown on the world stage and a "cowboy" so to speak and he is toting a big stick. Just like TR I think a strong leader in the White House holds other countries in check. Now if we were to elect another cuck like Wilson all bets are off.

I would say a significant difference though is that things/opinions within the countries themselves are very divided. It's not like USA vs. Europe or France vs. Germany, it's globalism vs. a milder form of nationalism/protectionism and pro mass immigration vs. strict borders etc...

The war would seem to be between ideologies more than our country vs. yours but how would that even look?

WWII was nationalism vs globalism. How would you explain the West declaring war on Germany and not the Soviet Union when they split up Poland? Soviet Union had already been genociding people but they became our allies.

True I guess but unless I'm wrong the individual countries themselves were more united, except maybe the Soviet Union.

I keep telling people and they don’t accept it, as soon as the US can not afford to police the world, the old ways are coming back. Good luck to all of the socialist European countries that rely on us to keep them safe. China will annex the portions of the south Pacific it wants, Russia will take the parts of Europe and ME it wants. How long do we really think the world will live in shoe boxes working for pennies making our stuff while Europe and USA weigh 300lbs each and live on disability. Idiots
