My conspiratorial side would think they were desperate to do anything to make sure the focus would off of that PR disaster.

It has to be as they suddenly don't seem to GAF that we know Ron is a mole.
They couldn’t care less. They can elect their candidate while we waste hours standing in line to vote thinking it really matters.

quote:You can frick off with this BS. This isn't about Trump vs DeSantis, we've just witnessed our country become a banana republic if it wasn't already. The left has just indicted a former president for absolutely nothing other than not liking his policies and dumb fricks like you cheer it on. They're not going to stop at Trump, they're coming for everyone that doesn't kneel before the degenerate ideology.
And here come all the Trump puppets come to scream about their savior.
“All hail Trump! We don’t care about his affairs. We don’t care that he did NOTHING when he had the presidency and both houses! All elections are fake! Voting machines are fake!”
DeSantis 2024! A real conservative. Not a fake POS.

BREAKING: Grand jury votes to indict Trump

That should wrap up the nomination for him.
You really think so?
Won't a good number of Republicans think it would give the party a better chance of winning if someone not entangled with the legal system was the nominee?
Yes, over the next week or two support for Trump will increase, but I won't say surge. But as people disgusted with the Biden administration contemplate November 2024 they might very well back off.
It will be interesting to see how any trial might go and, especially how soon it would happen. If Trump is convicted before the convention I would not expect him to garner the nomination.

Never again. 25% of all Republicans (the college graduate smart ones - like me) will NEVER vote for that scumbag again.

Indictment is not a good look for the former president. The contempt and animosity for this man has reached pathological proportions.
Only one certainty can be gleaned from this action by the Grand Jury of New York County: it effectively kiboshes any notion of Trump 2024. The former president's credibility is so low, and only a political party devoted to self-immolation would nominate a candidate by whom half the country hates his guts.

This is a big money saver for Trump. Assisted living facilities are expensive as hell.

Just dangerous precedent. There will probably be a blood red state that will eventually start going after Democrat politicians the same way.
If they endlessly harass a Democrat politician and their family, for years, with the full weight of the state. The state will eventually find something insignificant to blow up and try to turn it significant.
It's just a shitty USSR tactic that shouldn't be used in America.
