Besides one of the most perfectly legal ways to not pay taxes is to lose a whole lot of money.

Not a surprise with his Atlantic City casino and hotel. He rebounded; made a ton of money with his television show and his branding deals with clothing, and real estate.

They were paying him something like $50,000 per episode and he couldn’t even successfully negotiate a raise.

There is little to no evidence that he actually made a ton of money, and we found out that he was lying about his company’s income, by a factor of 12.

The whole value is and always has been in his brand. He’s the world’s most successful self promoter and he genius marketer. The NYT is stupid.

Don't we all wish we could one day be mocked for losing $100 million a year for a decade and still be able to substantially self fund a presidential campaign 25 years later?

No.

Sure, but this probably not true.

So is this just a gotcha that he doesnt have as much money as he claims?

Or is this a crime thing?

Luckily for us, he now has a new job.

Luckily for him...it pays more.

The former. But it’s not really a gotcha when it was pretty obvious.

He may not even be worth a billion, although a hundred millionaire isn’t a bad status.

You just gave two conflicting answers to one question.

It was a 2 part question. I would be happy to be able to successfully self-fund a presidential campaign, but I wouldn’t be happy losing billions of dollars.

There’s a difference between cash flow and tax losses. I suppose someone with a women’s studies degree may find that difficult to understand.
