Why declare national emergency?

First Mexico was paying, but we all understand that has an ice cube's chance in hell.

But then I was told they were still paying through a fantastic new NAFTA.

What am I missing here guys?

Dumb. No chance that makes it through the court systems and even if it somehow did, no way it doesn't bite us in the arse next time a Dem is president.

If you think the Dems won’t declare a National Emergency whenever they feel like it, but will now that Trump did, you’re not paying attention.

A president can ignore the courts if he so wishes.

The court requires the executive branch to implement it's rulings because the court doesn't have the power of the sword.

The only branch of government who can curtail the President is Congress, because they have the power to remove him.

The court is the weakest of the 3 Branches. It has neither the power of the sword or purse.

I do. I really don’t want President AOC or President Warren or President Dem to have this power to subvert Congress.

1) It won't be the first time a President has declared a national emergency.

2) By the time we get to a President AOC, this country will be done for, anyway.

That man twisted ObamaCare into something it was not because he was so pussified about the court looking political. Especially even though he knew it was unconstitutional.

The best part is that in his obsession to look apolitical he has made the court even more political. You are a hack if you are changing your views on the constitution based on politics or the court make up. The fact that he has started to regularly join the liberals in decisions since Kennedy retired doesn’t make him noble. It makes him a fraud.

activist "judges" in Cali and Hawaii can rule it invalid all they want to. Let's see those fawkers enforce their rulings.

In the meantime, carry on with the construction!

I hope Trump goes Andrew Jackson on The Courts...

"You've made your ruling, now enforce it"...

Yeah, it sets a bad precedent.

It is NEVER a good idea to give the government and more specifically the executive branch more power.

I love this excuse, like the ole west, lets not pull our gun until they pull theirs and shoot me. It does not matter what we do now, they plotted and planned a coup against a sitting president, does anyone in their right mind think they will not pull national emergency when they have a chance.

Second, let it roll through the courts and keep building, its a national emergency. When some arsehole judge from Hawaii puts a stay in place.....keep building until it reaches the supreme court. Sanctuary cities defy federal law, its about time the executive branch violated it as well.

He is compromised somehow. One theory I've heard is that his children were illegally adopted.

Well I don’t see how it would stop the bill he just signed from going through or getting the $4 billion from DoD or getting some from OBM. If he’s going to get roughly $5 bil without it, I don’t see how the courts could freeze any of that money.

It’s interesting that Mitch is supporting the emergency. Just a few days ago he was warning against it.

You think the courts will take that as a valid answer?
