The problem is that it is a STRATEGIC reserve not a financial reserve and certainly not a ‘political talking point’ reserve

Reserves will run out and because we aren’t drilling enough, it will go back up. Wait until we have our own emergency and our reserves are empty.

Never in the history of this Republic has a president made such a blatant political move which jeopardizes national security to such extent. LGB!

It’s been amazing if not breathtaking to watch the idiocy of the current illegitimate regime. From Afghanistan to the “Laptop From Hell”, this illegitimate president had exceeded all expectations of sheer incompetence.

Gas has gone up in Cali so i dont believe this

No telling nationwide, and California’s just it’s own animal.

But all I know is my local gas station spot in the Houston area is down about 15-20 cents a gallon from about two weeks ago.

Not that it matters. Oil is still over $100/barrel, and I’d guess would probably be more 70-80ish if not for policies of a particular group currently in power.

The problem there is that's a finite amount, it will need to be replenished eventually and he has no plans to actually fix the issue. This whole event is an attempt to just "wait out" the price increase and hope the market rebalances before he has to drain the reserve completely.

This could possibly be his plan. Run the reserves down to a critical level to further push the EV agenda. Or worse, completely collapse the free world as we know it to become a total socialist state

The price of a barrel of oil has no basis built into how many barrels the idiot releases. None what so ever.

Watch the price of the commodities market. That is what the oil companies base their purchase price of oil from.
When inventories start stacking up, the market always goes down. Not because the White House idiot tosses a few barrels per day into the market. What is charged is the price of a barrel coupled with cost of refining, then transportation to the retailers. Throw in Federal, State and City taxes.

For example ....If Biden were to suspend the ten cent Federal tax and Ivy in Alabama suspend the ten cent state tax, we'd be down 20 cents a gallon. Those taxes are on refined market costs at the pump.

It's always been that way. Some with an API gravity as low as 8. You can kick it and hurt your foot. It's solid at room temperature. It has to be kept hot and discharged above around 130 degrees. It is GREAT for making petroleum coke. At least 11 Gulf Coast refineries reconfigured just to use it, back in the 1980's. Ask Lawrence Berry about the coker. He's got Valero, PEMEX and PDVSA execs along with politicians of both parties at his live dove shooting most Fridays at his ranch near Rosharon.
