I am an Assistant Cub Master and also an Assistant Scout Master. For the most part this is going to be a non-issue.
In the Cub Scouts, it is not uncommon for sisters to tag along during meetings and they are allowed to participate and the camping trips parents have to attend and the siblings get to come...Now they can actually get credit.
The BSA has already had "Venture Scouting" which is for Boys and Girls between the ages of 13-20 to participate in more high energy activities.
When we do our recruiting in the schools, we have a lot of girls that want to join Cub Scouting because the Girl Scouts has too much of a "Home-EC" theme and many of them want to join the Cub Scout/Boy Scout activities.
Heaven forbid we have a youth program that would teach young boys and now girls how to treat each other with respect along with the general values of Scouting that has adult supervision.
The BSA has what the call a 2-deep rule that requires no adult to ever be alone with a scout. There must always be 2 adults within eye-sight and hearing...I would add that there should be a female leader if a girl joins as a CYA.

Well then I guess just frick all those young boys out there who will never have the opportunity for all male bonding so you can feel good about gender equality. You're selfish as frick.

Well slick, unlike you I know what the program is doing. While the Cub Scouts are allowing girls, the actual Den will NOT be CO-ED. The BSA has structured the program so Girls can enjoy the same scouting experience as the Boy do, but the Den and Troops won't be CO-ED. The Den will be All girl or all Boy.
It is unlikely an All-Boy Unit will choose the Co-Ed option because that would require the creation of 5 new Dens and that requires space that is at a premium.
The Red-Meat Male Bonding will be quite fine Hot Rod

Why are they continuing to be sexist and discriminate against females?

You REALLY think that will last longer than a few years with the recent trend of the BSA caving to everything?
If it stays separate I don't have much problem but we all know like five people will bitch and moan and they'll bend over backwards to accommodate

Boy Scouts to start allowing girls in
Not in my generation
Only girls can let the boys in as they have the innie and the boys have the outie.

Isn't that part of the point of putting your kids in scouts? Having boy time because they don't get that in other aspects of their lives.
I’m not sure many people put their kids in activity to have "boy time". What purpose would it serve?

I wasn't a Boy Scout, but I was a Cub Scout. What a load of shite this is. I wanted to be a Boy Scout, but there was a guy 2 years older than us who was a Boy Scout that terrorized the neighborhood kids my age and regularly beat the F out of us, to where only 2 people my age went onto be Boy Scouts. Even the bully in our grade who was also a Cub Scout refused to move forward due to him.

Jesus Christ, so now life skills is politically incorrect?
Cooking is a bad thing? Tell Gordan Ramsey.
If the Girl Scouts also want to hunt and fish then they can hunt and fish, they don't have to join the Boy Scouts. Girl Scouts can create whatever curriculum and badges they want.

There's going to be rampant teenage pregnancies and lawsuits coming from this retarded as frick change for BSA.
Just look at what happened when the navy and army started allowing women onto their bases and ships and love affairs, rapes and petty men-women drama was rampant as frick. It's going to be even worse with teenagers that are hormonal as hell going through puberty or having just finished it out in the woods in the middle of nowhere.
