Dude, I’m as MAGA as anyone else here. I do not think fondly of Hussein. But let’s not compare his administration to slavery and the civil war.
The major issue I have with Obammy is he had a chance to be a great example of showing the country how to move forward and move on, leave the race baiting and racial identity politics in the past. Guess what? The son of a Kenyan made race relations worse while redefining how vindictive and nasty Dim Marxists truly are. Hopefully naive Americans won’t be fooled again by a Dim race baiting politician.

frick you. You assholes aren't bothered by the satanic statue around the corner. There is no "right to not be offended" anywhere.

So you're saying the Alamo wasn't worth the effort also then. It was a dilapidated church with a bunch of crumbling adobe yet 157 Americans died protecting it. It's called fighting for a cause. Dipshits can't comprehend that.

If we’re going to apply subjective moral reasoning to decide what statues, monuments, memorials come down then let’s discuss why MLK has dozens if not hundreds of streets, schools and buildings named after a well documented philanderer? I have no issue of honoring MLK in our history books for his contributions and fight for civil rights but as a person of questionable moral character particularly a Christian pastor, he’s not worthy of the fanfare of having streets, schools and buildings named in his honor.

I'll tell you how I feel. I personally don't give a damn about any statue, but, I wouldn't let any fricking group of people come into my town and tear one down. It's about some people just deciding that they are going to tell other people how to think, and do, or what we can have or can't have. That's a hill to die on. People like that, have to be stopped.

If it means protecting heritage, sure. You know, there were things my dad did that was wrong and he admitted to those wrongs but guess what, I still love the man even after he has been dead and gone for 27 years. There are some things that the South might not have done right but the South is still my heritage and it's a just cause to defend that heritage if need be.

quote:while this is not a bad suggestion, those people will NEVER be happy until history is erased. it doesn't matter where you put them. they are trying to fundamentally alter the culture of the country by silencing voices of opposition and by eliminating any vestige of diversity.
Let’s move these statues to museums, to statue gardens, etc where they can be displayed for the history that they are, without sitting on the capital grounds

It's not about statues, it's not about history. It's about imposing will. That's all.

This x 1000000. If someone is offended by a “piece of metal” that bad, stay away from it or better yet, start a petition and go through a legal process to have it removed. If I’m offended by graffiti all over buildings I just don’t look at it.
