Those releases are signed before the interview.

I don't understand how anyone above junior high school age could. It's always the same annoying juvenile garbage.

Yeah. Notice that some faces were blurred.

I imagine the amount they offered to sign was too small for them.

I was amazed at the number of people that did sign waivers.

I hope he gets sued to hell.

I must have missed the part in the synagogue where he embarassed anyone, other than anti semites. Those 2 ladies came off as very sweet.

Most people on this board are like the ones who sang along Country Steve. No wonder few people here find him funny.

What he did to Rudy was a felony under NY criminal code. It's only a matter of time before he gets too cocky and fricks with the wrong person and in the wrong state

If Rudy in NYC isn't the wrong person in the wrong state to do anything about it, then who is?

The new movie pretty much sucked, and it didn't really have anything to do with it being political. It was just way more story driven and general acting compared to the 1st one that had way more interactions with random people, which is what made it good. The 2nd one lacked that.

agree. I'd heard he is Jewish so I was hoping that scene was set up. Knowing it wasn't, frick him. He came into the synagogue dressed like a complete a-hole.

Just some context: He's very jewish and spent a lot of time in Israel, his wife converted before they married. Part of his comedy is making fun of anti-semitism. The character Borat is an anti-semite and it is played up. I only saw the first movie. Haven't seen this one.

Rudy is a private citizen, and NYC isn't exactly the state you'd expect a conservative political figure to get any sort of justice.

quote:

A person is guilty of unlawful surveillance in the second degree when:

1. For his or her own, or another person's amusement, entertainment, or profit, or for the purpose of degrading or abusing a person, he or she intentionally uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast or record a person dressing or undressing or the sexual or other intimate parts of such person at a place and time when such person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without such person's knowledge or consent; or

2. For his or her own, or another person's sexual arousal or sexual gratification, he or she intentionally uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast or record a person dressing or undressing or the sexual or other intimate parts of such person at a place and time when such person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without such person's knowledge or consent; or

3. (a) For no legitimate purpose, he or she intentionally uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast or record a person in a bedroom, changing room, fitting room, restroom, toilet, bathroom, washroom, shower or any room assigned to guests or patrons in a motel, hotel or inn, without such person's knowledge or consent.

(b) For the purposes of this subdivision, when a person uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device in a bedroom, changing room, fitting room, restroom, toilet, bathroom, washroom, shower or any room assigned to guests or patrons in a hotel, motel or inn, there is a rebuttable presumption that such person did so for no legitimate purpose; or

4. Without the knowledge or consent of a person, he or she intentionally uses or installs, or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast or record, under the clothing being worn by such person, the sexual or other intimate parts of such person; or

5. For his or her own, or another individual's amusement, entertainment, profit, sexual arousal or gratification, or for the purpose of degrading or abusing a person, the actor intentionally uses or installs or permits the utilization or installation of an imaging device to surreptitiously view, broadcast, or record such person in an identifiable manner:

(a) engaging in sexual conduct, as defined in subdivision ten of section 130.00 of this part;

(b) in the same image with the sexual or intimate part of any other person; and

(c) at a place and time when such person has a reasonable expectation of privacy, without such person's knowledge or consent.

Unlawful surveillance in the second degree is a class E felony.

(3) is enough, and he's created (5) by alleging Rudy was trying to engage in sexual conduct.

Rudy agreed to an interview in the other room where the interview set was arranged with cameras, lighting, mics, etc, not to be filmed in an adjacent bedroom where he had an expectation of privacy.

Was the filming surreptitious? I was under the impression it was set up as a fake interview? I didn't think Cohen really used hidden camera work - it's typically set up as a documentary or interview.

Borat 1 and The Dictator were cool.
I don't care to watch the latest Borat because it's so blatantly political.

Not in the bedroom it wasn't. That's like saying it's ok to set up hidden cameras in someone's dressing room if they signed off on an interview in the same building.

The camera(s) in the bedroom were clearly surreptitious. Notice the complete lack of another person in there manning any other cameras except for the camera in the living area where the lighting is set up? fricking Cohen even comes in during the "interview" portion in the living area with a sound mic. The bedroom is just Rudy and the actress, yet we somehow how multiple camera angles all over the bedroom. You really think Rudy had any reason to think he was being filmed in the bedroom?
