Oh it’s perfectly necessary. Tying every boomer to their 401ks was the ultimate way to always buy their vote and steer the ship. It’s the ultimate power play. It’s the ultimate check to government power as folks always vote with their wallet and will never suffer short term pain for long term growth.

Perhaps we should from a generational standpoint
Consider up until recently most of our political leaders and key business types have been baby boomer or greater.
Donald Trump - born 1946
Joe Biden - born 1942
Mitch McConnell - born 1942
Nancy Pelosi - born 1940
Charles Schumer - born 1950
Clarence Thomas - born 1948
Samuel Alito - born 1950
People like Jamie Dimon were born in 1956
It's not until the last 2 years that the X cohort has really taken root and the oldest of them in about 60.
The boomers are looking to live well into their 80s

Well, it’s arguably the most important topic moving forward. Millenials and zoomers will be forced to remove a 100 year old entitlement system that was always destined to fail, to remove big business from buying homes meant for young families, artificially inflating housing across the country, forced to remove The Great Society and the disastrous family destroying handouts that crushed the social fabric all while being called racist and bigots, be forced to remove disastrous globalist policies that destroyed the manufacturing hub of the world, and remove Congress’ ability to get rich while selling out our country and putting the world before our generations and our kids.
So yeah, it’s kind of a big topic. Now saunter off to your cruise ship and your summer homes you bought for hundreds while we navigate a world of economic landmines you fostered all while being called lazy and entitled.
You sound like a socialist. Are you a socialist?
Figure out how to navigate in the here and now like smart people do.
Smart people find ways to succeed regardless of the social or economic environment. All I'm hearing from you is whining.

I paid that forward by paying for both my daughter and son's college so they didn't have to work. It was an investment in their future, and it has paid off.
That’s great for you and what I’m doing for my kids as well but not many are in that same position.

Cheap housing? I bought my first house in 1986. 30-year fixed rate interest was 11.5%. You probably cannot even relate to an interest rate that high.
Relatively compared to wages, I guarantee your house note even at a 11.5% interest rate is cheaper than today’s cost of housing. Not to mention I’m sure you refinanced as rates dropped.

Ex, aging hippies that still think it's 1967 and they can save the world by carrying their fatasses out to a march.
I lived through it and can assure you that less than 5% of boomers were hippies. And a lot of them became your college professors.

And you sound like you have a reading comprehension problem. Early onset dementia?

This statement is categorically false...as many Russian and Eastern Europeans discovered. Hell, even the Chinese are only communists in name.
I think you are being too defensive. No one begrudges your financial security as a retiree, but it's OK to acknowledge that young people face a different economic reality than in the '70s and '80s.

Of course I did. I also traded up multiple times. Like I said, smart people find ways to get by regardless of social or economic conditions. I never blamed the previous generations for forcing me to have to pay higher interest rates. That is just the way it was at the time.
Also, smart people purchased properties when interest rates were low, and converted them into rentals that would provide them with an income stream well into their retirement years.
Should taking advantage of advantageous economic conditions be held against us? Would you not do the same if similar conditions presented themselves?

Categorically false?
Are you saying that smart people in Russia, Eastern Europe, and China didn't find ways to thrive under communism?

Making generalized statements about and laying blanket blame on an entire generation of people is the work of the weak minded and lazy.

I’d hire a boomer/Gen X over anyone younger.
Better work ethic.

no they aren't. i'm 52, born in 1973, almost 30 years removed from boomers. there were plenty of boomers that had kids before i was born. how would someone born 20 yrs after the war be considered a boomer?
people are laughing at wealthy pricks that want to encapsulate wealth for themselves while screwing younger people. that part fits you

Well, you're wrong. Take it up with the demographers if you don't like the definition I provided.
I find your post grossly underwhelming.

Gen X here.
Boomers were great to work with. They had the same work ethic as I do. Work hard, make some cash. Whats yours is yours, whats mine is mine.
As a manager at a Fortune 10 company in the last 10 years, having to field complaints:
- one company paid happy hour per week is insufficient
- working after 5 occasionally to meet a deadline is asking way too much
- 1-2 years is more than enough experience to become a manager/director
We would laugh at all the nonsense.

The "would-be beneficiaries" are too inexperienced (aka stupid) to recognize they are the patsies at the game table, and an indebted Uncle•Socialist•Sam is after their inheritance.
What is driving the angst towards this generation?
