She didn't mention anything about threats of violence.
Now that she's been called out she's trying to say "oh, I meant hate speech that includes threats of violence"

I'm surprised she'd reply at all, you'd think the AG would have actual work to do & care less about pedantic lib screeching

How is celebrating something that has already happened (Kirk’s assassination) inciting that thing which has already happened?

We spent the past 20 years of them saying everything they don’t like is hate speech. Biden made multiple speeches on it. They tried to form a Ministry of Truth to attack speech. They called any attack on them hate speech.

And here you are agreeing with them.

Hate speech is protected.

“They are Nazis” is protected

“They are Nazis and we must kill the Nazis” is not.

Bondi stepped in it bad.

Incorrect.
Sorry.

e.g., Hate speech is not protected when it incites lawless actions, represents a genuine threat, or is deliberately intended provoke an immediate violent reaction from the target.

Did you stop reading her tweet immediately after "hate speech." Maybe I'm the retarded one but is seems like the word THAT is important here.

Like say, you don't suck dick versus you don't suck dick THAT much.

She just blew it by using the phrase "hate speech" to describe threats. That rankled me,too.

Now she's providing her own narrow definition of the progressive term hate speech.

That was pretty dumb.

Corrected that for you. No need for the "hate" modifier preceding "speech".

Yep.

"Hate speech" is not a defined term in U.S. federal law. People use the term "Hate speech" for speech that hurts feelings. There's just speech. Protected.

ETA: there is a thing called "discriminatory harassment" under Title VII, but I think of that more as employment law than a free speech thing.

Threats and speech to incite violence are NOT protected.

Bondi blew it by promoting that phrase.

Enough of this bitch. She should have been fricking fired back in March. Easily Trump’s worst appointment and he should make Matt Gaetz the interim AG for the next 15 months. Pam Bondi is more interested in being a media whore anyway, so just have them switch jobs.

Follow Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.

Fascinating.
