could it be that PRESIDENT TRUMP instead found a way to punish his enemy who thought they would make quick buck by shorting stocks but instead got caught with pants down causing them to lose money ?

Closing the Position:
To close a short position, the short seller must buy back the same number of shares they borrowed and sold, effectively returning the borrowed shares to the lender.
Potential for Loss:
If the stock price rises, the short seller will lose money as they will have to buy back the shares at a higher price than they sold them for.

It was always about improving trade deals and bringing some mfg back. It was only the TDS crowd who insisted it had to be one or the other.

It was always the "free market" people who insisted that there had to be a clearly defined goal publicly stated and there must be strict 100% adherence to that goal or the entire thing is a failure.

You change your arguments from "I thought we wanted mfg back" to "I thought we wanted zero tariffs" without the obvious thought that it would never be one or the other in totality. MAGA is happy with improvement even if it's not exactly what we wanted, and you think that's something to attack them for.

You are more concerned about being right than improving the country.

If Trump gets 95% of what he wants, you will claim it wasn't everything so it was a failure. If Trump improves the country in any way, you will call it a failure because you care more about his words than actions or because it wasn't done your way. It's the same pattern of behavior that's been apparent since 2016.

The whole thing was based on a lie to begin with. Viet Nam has an average tariff of 1.9 % on US goods. Trump said it was 90%. He’s thinks trade deficits are the same as tariffs. He’s a moron.
