I imagine there's life out there but any craft in our atmosphere would be a drone or probe since logistics of distance travel are more difficult for living creatures.

Heard about this earlier today via podcast. Haven't seen the vid, but I'm guessing it's on par with everything else. Sounds strikingly like the Phoenix lights incident.
A bunch of Marines who live on base and know what stuff looks like got all excited, then the base went out looking, this wasn't flares or mere drones.

These statements remind me of an Episode of Futurama when a group of Aliens threaten to invade Earth to see a lost episode of TV show from a thousand years ago because the show got interrupted due to technical difficulties.
If you think about it, if you are 1,000 light years away, radio signals from Earth would take 1,000 years to get to the planet or system.
Also, a the storyline from the movie Contact was based on a distant system retransmitting signals from earth from decades earlier. Think about that now with our digital signals and receivers now, you wouldn’t be able to decode some of our old radio signals.

I find stuff like these these sightings interesting, but the average military member doesn't know what jack shite looks like. They're not authorities on any and all things military, just whatever narrow area their job is.

Good question. Another inexplicable occurrence regarding UFOs are the ones who somehow traverse interstellar space and then crash once they reach earth.

I get that just because they're in uniform doesn't make them an 'expert' across all areas of the military, but they interviewed one Marine whose job was to fire off lumen rounds that light up a target area. If he doesn't know what a flare or luminated ordinance looks like, then who the hell does?
This wasn't either of those 2 things.
But maybe you missed the part that a 60 truck convoy was sent out to search the area, as well as helicopters from the base.
Whatever it was, it didn't just get the attention of some random Jarheads. It was something that concerned the brass as well.
