Major funding to help states pass and implement crisis intervention orders (red flag laws) that will allow law enforcement to temporarily take dangerous weapons away from people who pose a danger to others or themselves.

Billions in new funding for mental health and school safety, including money for the national build out of community mental health clinics.

Close the “boyfriend loophole”, so that no domestic abuser - a spouse OR a serious dating partner - can buy a gun if they are convicted of abuse against their partner.

Enhanced background check for under 21 gun buyers and a short pause to conduct the check. Young buyers can get the gun only after the enhanced check is completed.

What is missing:

bans on rifles
magazine limits
bans on 18 year olds buying guns
red flag law thing is only in the form of grants to states

all in all, could have been worse

If you don’t think it’s bad, it must be fricking horrible.

Why are you starting a thread about this, anyway? I thought you vowed to only post about polls and elections?

As if that’s any great sacrifice you were making.

You’re an idiot. Taking people’s shite without due process is unconstitutional.

Shall not be infringed… what part of that do you not understand? It’s funny how you care so much about the safety of “our children” but you cheer on Soros backed DA’s that let felons out with no bail and refuse to prosecute. Y’all disgust me with your virtue signaling and stupidity.

Yet they refuse to acknowledge or address black on black violence.

The real problem…….

You’re and idiot.

Mental health has become dog whistle code for CRT in public schools already.

I don’t understand this. People can be legally committed to the hospital you health professionals if they are a danger to others or themselves. This would mean they would lose access to weapons. Many times local law enforcement wants nothing to do with mental health services.

#1. How is this technically doing anything different?

#2. If they are giving the power to law enforcement that is just stupid.

Never give away any God given right. Never give an inch. They will inch you to death until they have an entire mile.

Shall no be infringed. Why is this so hard to understand for politicians and the citizens?

You’re an idiot. A lifetime ban for conviction of a crime that may or may not be a felony?

Mark my words. Red Flag seizures will become just like Restraining Orders. Those started out serious and now are pro forma for anyone going through a divorce and are used as ammo in custody cases. Red Flag orders will be abused in the same manner.

Half of all men go through a divorce.

“Black on black crime” is a talking point for the simple-minded and ignorant.

You’re an idiot.

Second class status for young people? How many young women who need protection are going to end up victims because of this “short pause?” Ever hear of “equal protection?”

Sweet so the disgruntled ex can have his/hers guns taken away because they are feeling petty.

red flag laws are stupid and rather unconstitutional. Innocent until proven guilty should mean something.

Unconstitutional. Is due process no longer a thing?

Never heard of this one. It’s my understanding that anyone convicted of domestic violence is a prohibited person under NICS.

Terrible and unconstitutional. Now people under 21 and 2nd-class citizens, even though we’ll gladly give them full auto weapons and ship them to a shite hole overseas?
