Does anyone know what the exact process is for a president to declassify something?


I know that they can declassify whatever they want, whenever they want. I just don't know if they have to fill out some paperwork, get it approved, etc, etc. If they can just say, "Hey, that's not classified anymore," then all this seems pointless.

Everything I’ve come up with indicates there is absolutely zero formal process. If the President intends for something to be declassified, it’s declassified.
