Biggest emotional election night, 2000 or 2016?

I was sick to my stomach weeks before the 2000 election. Gore would have been worse than Hillary. He would have given the far left an 8 or 16 year head start, depending on how much further left you think Hillary would have pushed us past Obama. Turning back on the television at 4 AM and seeing Florida projection had changed from Gore to Bush was a huge sense of joy. Of course the weeks there after were gut wrenching.
I had no expectation that Trump would win in 2016, so it was definitely a building emotion rather than a sudden reverse of fortune feeling.
What election night brought you the greatest joy?

GWB was the worst president of all time. I wish Gore had won.

2016, still watching the melts from 4 years ago every once in a while to cheer me up

2016 without question. That was a major victory for America

Had to be 2000 for me. It was my honeymoon night. I was hanging, chads were hanging and Gulf Shores was basically empty of people. I stayed up most of the night watching what was going on with the votes. Having an endurance maximum of 37 seconds I watched a lot of tv. I was 48 at the time so longevity wasn't my forte.
However, that wife did stay up with me all night in 2016 enjoying the show. It was less nerve wracking than the night of 2000.

Higher taxes, Hugh environment regs, and we’d still be fighting terrorists on US soil.
2016 was the more emotional night tho. I never expected Trump to win that entire cycle.

The question isn’t a comparison of Bush vs Trump as presidents.

Say what you want about GWB (and he certainly wasn't a great president, domestically) but I believe he was the perfect president to guide us through 9/11 and the response until Iraq. Iraq was obviously a blunder of epic proportions.

2016
Not even close!
I expected GWB to win. His GOTV underperformed significantly.

You're comparing a Bush victory to a Trump victory.

Based on the comedic storm that happened on YT 2016 wins in a walk

The night of the 2000 election I was by myself, tucked cozily in a hotel room, having traveled on business. I thought they'd called Florida for Bush so I turned everything off and slept in peace. The next morning at the breakfast buffet, everyone looked upset and I didn't rest easy until over a month later. The industrial client in rural Tennessee so I was amongst kindred spirits
It was a dark and stormy night: 08-Nov-2016. Back then I thought the polls were trustworthy. One pollster put up his projected map with "her" narrow victory, with a fine print footnote stating that MI, WI, PA, NV, FL, and MN plus a few other states were in play.
Nonetheless I was convinced "she" was going to eat Trump's lunch. My husband was more optimistic. How utterly miserable I was, driving my daughter home from a club meeting on that cold, dark, rainy night.
My husband watched the returns while I disappeared to work on a hobby. I couldn't bear to watch that vile woman smirk and queen it over us. My husband kept whooping and telling me to come watch with him. I was too sunk in a pit of misery. But I did get curious and I opened up the New York Slimes election results.
The rest is history. Lefties are definitely on the WRONG side of it along with every other communist filth ever to soil this good earth.

Bush vs Gore was the true case of Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich.

2016 without a doubt. I was literally laughing out loud, saying “Donald freakin Trump is President “. And then spent a week rewatching all the melts on YouTube.
