I am going to say that Kabul is worse because the administration had more than 3 days warning to prepare and didn’t. What do y’all think?

The raping and killing isn’t done yet in Kabul (nor really in either place long term).

Kabul is the largest self-inflicted debacle in the nation's history.

I thought the question was going to be which place would you rather be/have been.

I'd go with the Superdome, but it's closer than you think.

People were told to get out of New Orleans before Katrina and knew the storm was coming, just not the flooding.

People in Kabul weren’t expecting the entire country to collapse overnight.

Kabul. Not even close.

People could watch the news and see the hurricane coming at them and stayed in place. They were told to get out.

The government told US Citizens in Kabul to shelter in place and were told everything is OK.

Katrina - Natural disaster with a failure by govt at all levels.

Kabul - Man made disaster with an agenda driven response.

Kabul isn’t a disaster.

Kabul is a decision.

A very, very, very, poor string of decisions with absolutely no accountability.

It collapsed over like 10 days. Plus the DOD and State Department told the administration in early July that Afghan could fall fast.

Did the administration tell the people?

That is where I am going. The people in country were specifically told by the president and others that the country would hold up and not become South Vietnam.

If shithead had been honest with people on the ground there that this was an issue, we would have a lot fewer Americans getting buttfricked by the Taliban, literally and metaphorically.

Kabul because it's not over yet. I'm waiting to see what happens on/after the 30th.

Both situations are a mess but one of them are man made and that’s the one that could have been avoidable.

Depends who you ask.

I know people who worked with the Guard during the storm and said a lot got hushed up but wouldn’t go into specifics.
