Big U.S. oil drillers have federal permits to mute effect of any Biden ban

U.S. President Joe Biden’s promised ban on new oil and gas drilling on federal lands would take years to shut off production from top shale drillers because they already have stockpiled permits, according to Reuters interviews with executives.
But smaller independent oil drillers without the resources of big corporations were more worried about Biden’s vow to toughen regulations and stop issuing new permits on federal lands, part of his sweeping plan to combat climate change and bring the economy to net zero emissions by 2050.
Federal lands are the source of about 10% of U.S. oil and gas supply. Fossil fuels produced on federally managed lands and waters contribute nearly 25% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, according to government estimates, making them an easy target for the administration’s climate agenda.
The seven companies that control half the federal supply onshore in the Lower 48 states have leases and permits in hand that could last years.

Closer to oligarchy. There’s an attack on anything smaller than the absolute top of the pyramid in every industry.

Now tell me what percentage that is of global greenhouse emissions.

While I’m completely against this, it will drive more development to private land which is good because it puts money in peoples pockets rather than the fricking govt.

You have to grade that on a curve.
India clearly can’t do much about cow farts.

Biden killed Keystone
Biden killed thousands of American jobs
Biden killed drilling on our soil
Biden enriched foreign oil countries because we’ll have to ship it in.
He’s a terrorist.

Biden doesn't care about no steenking permits. What does the law mean to him? He'll just void them, some wacko Federal Judge will rubber stamp it, and that's that.

th
Unlike the Keystone XL which had a POTUS can cancel clause, the permits are already issued that is why they can only ban new permits.

I work in the Permian Basin, in New Mexico specifically for a larger operator. They have been retro fitting old production facilities etc and have no plans for drilling in NM but have slowly moved more and more operations and purchased acreage in Texas to drill and produce. All indications seems as if the band aid is about to be ripped off on New Mexico. Eddy and Lea Counties bring in $800 million dollars to the state yearly. Lea County is also the largest producer of oil in the US. Those folks who blindly worship Santa Fe and Albuquerque are about to feel some financial pain like no other...

This shows the stupidity of the Democrats plans and the Media's lapdoging.
The oil that is coming from our soil and industry will be shut off so we can buy the same amount from overseas and keep right on emitting those same 25% greenhouse gasses.
This does nothing but take away US jobs and energy independence because we're still going to consume the same amount of oil regardless.

Nice BS juxtaposition. Talk about land based prod being 10% then add in offshore to pump up the emissions to 25%.
God I hate the left.

I don’t think they’ll get to a point where they try to frick with private land. That’s not going to fly in most of these states.

Many years ago Puerto Ricans began protesting the fact the US was using a small island off their coast for bombing practice. Pretty soon Hollywood got involved along with the MSM, the govt stopped bombing, closed the airbase and screwed PR out of a lot of money.
The lease on the island was federal and sold off for a song.
A high ranking govt official (who had nothing to do with the protests starting..... wink wink) bought the lease and now owns a beautiful resort on the island.
Green new deal is green alright but it has nothing to do with a green environment but rather a fat green wallet.

This math does not add up. 10% of the supply accounts for 25% of emissions?
The other 90% only accounts for 75% of emissions?
Someone care to explain.

Boldface the word in front of contribute in your last words you bolded. That should address your question.

So Premier Biden’s has the desired effect of reducing competition to killing smaller businesses and maximize virtue signaling.
