Thisis cute. Apparently you don't follow politics. Do you feel comfortable bartering for bubble gum on the play ground?

You do understand that this didn’t HAVE to come down to an EO, right?
That’s true. He could have stayed out of it and let the rent agreements hold and evictions take place. Or is it the governments job to step in?

He will. Spending out the wazoo. Trump has never been a real fiscal conservative; he's a risk taking, borrower, and gambler, with a penchant for flamboyance. For him, the ultimate 'bling' would be to rebuild America...top to bottom. Big and beautiful, with both rich and poor thanking him for it.
I have no idea how 'money' will be affected in such a process. The coming transformation via High Tech alone makes former prediction models virtually worthless. The sky is the limit; though sometimes a 'Challenger' event happens while aiming high.

#1 can be temporary, actually. And could be remedied and repaired. #2, not so much.
As I said in the other thread, “political genius, even if really bad policy. “
It is hilarious watching the sycophants claim this guy is not a politician.

Actually govern? I thought he was the great deal maker.

Regardless of the answer, he is just a piece of the government sand with limited powers for a reason.

Not a big fan of EOs either, but it’s good to see a republican fighting fire with fire.

It makes for a great political headline.

The Republican just signed millions of Americans up for a loan and most don’t realize it so will get a nasty surprise from Uncle Sam next year when the bill comes due. What kind of fire does that fight?

I was called a commie by this board earlier and told to be patient... For what? More handouts? Who wins at the next spin of the wheel?

What legal basis does the government have to suspend evictions? Essentially forcing landlords to provide free housing.
I don’t like EOs either and if someone asks me if I approve of them, I’ll say that I don’t.
That being said, Trump has forced the Democrats to either come out and say they’re against the EOs that would help Americans (politically disastrous), or he’s forced the Democrats to abandon all of the BS they were trying to pass in that bill and put together legitimate legislation.
I hope it’s the latter.

My man, just go ahead and do what you gotta do. I can't tell what you after here. Just make up you mind and commit to voting for Biden. Ain't nobody gonna die from your vote. I mean, are you seeking to be talked out of it or something? Because if so, I'm out.

Work through Congress? Isn't he the all-time best negotiator? Makes the best deals?
He did get Veterans' choice when nobody could...

Get the message out that the federal government shouldn't be involved in voluntary contracts.
You should spend some more time sitting in federal court
They have been involved in voluntary contracts since 1789

You don't think congressional Republicans are drafting legislation already to waive that "loan"?

Trump is only using this because the dems are being heartless, ruthless, and incredibly cruel. They want to force Trump to give in to their demands to bailout ALL democrat cities that were destroyed by BLM activists.
I dislike EOs, but in this case this has to be done based on they way the dems are acting. If Trump can do this, then the dems will look very bad for not agreeing to these things.

So, you don't have a clue what he should have done and just want to bitch about it? Got it.
The problem is that "what he should have done" started in February or March. He didn't exhibit nearly strong enough leadership at that time and allowed these shutdowns to take place, which painted him in the corner he finds himself in now.
And by "allowed," I don't mean in a technical sense. I mean that he didn't take control of the dialogue, he didn't do anything to assuage the fear, he didn't offer any original solutions, he didn't (as far as I know) assemble a special task force or team to interpret the recommendations from all the academics and put them in a practical context...he basically let the Fauchis of the world run the show and occasionally gave the left and media fodder to criticize him with one liners like "I hope we're open by Easter."
COVID showed that Trump is not a courageous and creative leader. He's supposed to have brass balls because he'll get in a tweet war with Rosie O'Donnell or Megan Kelly, but when an actual crisis arose he stood around with his thumb up his butt and said just enough non-committal BS to give the left an excuse to criticize him anyway.
Don't get me wrong. He's accomplished some good things in his tenure. But he's not one of the greats. One of the greats would have done a much better job with this and showed much stronger leadership.
And for those who haven't figured it out yet, Trump is a big government-type. Always has been. So this isn't a stretch for him at all. This is perfectly in line with his political personality from day one. Even more so when you think back to how much he still doesn't seem to understand about how the government actually works and just wants to order people to do stuff. He's right at home in the EO realm.
