If only that was the only thing he didn't understand.

He's not speaking to O&G execs who don't have that kind of control over gasoline prices. He's talking to local/state fuel supply companies and gas station operators.

What about the prices of bottled water, milk, bread, etc. Those prices go up and it’s not due to a hurricane. That fool and those that support him are some of the dumbest SOBs in the world.

Oh, he understands. He just sees a chance to score political points and take a shot at evil oil companies.

It always amazes me that so many people in power have zero fundamental knowledge of economics.

They know how it works. There goal is to alway have a hero, a villain, and a victim. They will say anything that makes them the hero and voters the victim and we know the the villains will be.

Do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people," Biden said during a White House conference on hunger, nutrition and health. "The price of oil has stayed relatively low and kept going down; the price of gas should be going down as well."

Wait I thought POTUS couldn’t help with the price of gas? Has he found a magic wand or something?

I think you meant century. Half a decade is 5 years.

But the price of oil is up today by 3.50 a barrel on a larger than expected draw on inventories.

Why are ALL leftist complete idiots when it comes to economics and finance? It's called supply & demand; when hurricanes enter the Gulf of Mexico oil rigs shutdown and evacuate for "SAFETY"! Second, do these idiots know where the majority oil refineries are located (Gulf Coastline) and this is the bottle neck of the complete process to the pump? Do they know more refineries aren't being built because of leftist environmental policies?

Sorry man. I usually agree with your industry takes, but I fully believe that President Biden is dragging the entire oil & gas industry and their record profits into his “warnings”.

If gas stations to raise prices because their supply distribution is restricted by the storm, the mantra from the Democrat Party will be that evil Exxon, Chevron and Shell price-gouged Americans during a hurricane.

"The price of oil has stayed relatively low". Good. Relieved to know, then, that he has restored the almost kaput Strategic Oil Reserve. That he has practically emptied.

And why are all the refineries on the Gulf Coast?!? Because all the Blue States regulated the ones they had away. Also, Florida gets impacted more dramatically by storms because they have steadfastly refused to permit pipelines in their state. So all the gasoline (other than close to bordering states that DO have pipelines) comes into their 3 main ports and is shuttled out from there. I’m not as plugged in as I once was, so idk about Port Everglades but Tampa and Jacksonville are certainly shutdown. Throw hundreds of thousands of people on the road all at once, and fuel trucks are stuck in gridlock. All states have some form of price gouging laws in place, and the Idiot-in-Chief, or at least some of his handlers, know this. Pure grandstanding. FJB
