I'm not so sure. I think the daily focus on Shamala would prove she's absolutely a candidate for a full mental evaluation......I would give her about 6-12 months and they would usher her off in a straight jacket. Then we have Pelosi.....I'd give her not much longer than 6-12 months of being scrutinized daily and she would fold like a $10 lawn chair.

It is very similar to the normal executive appointment process for Cabinet secretaries, etc., with the caveat that VPOTUS has to be confirmed via a majority vote in both houses of Congress. Not just the Senate.
As far as I know, the only requirement on who she picks is that they be (a) a natural born US citizen, (b) at least 35 years old; and (c) be a resident of the UNited States for the previous 14 years. Whether or not it will be rubber stamped depends on the makeup of Congress at the time. The current succession framework has only been in place since the 70's, but both times it has been used the new VPOTUS was confirmed easily, and nearly unanimously in the Senate.
Times have changed though so it would be interesting in the current Congress, as Harris' assuming the office of POTUS would leave the VP position (President of the Senate) vacant. With a 50-50 partisan split, rubber stamping would be off the table I would think without the tiebreaker.
