Politics is about punishing your enemies and rewarding your friends.

They basically want only two options. You work a service industry job, or you work for the government.

Between government pensions and Fed raises, it’s the only thing the government gives two fricks about… getting more of YOUR money in their pockets. Btw, 2.1M employees would make them larger than the largest corporation by far

I feel the same way about insurance. They are the single largest provider in the country.

I worked for the State Department until I couldn’t take it anymore. In an office of 160 employees, 5 of us were conservative.

I'd be okay with giving them a 10% raise if they dissolved all the 3 letter agencies and let go 90% of that 2.1 million.

I work with a lot of NPS and FWS, especially after natural disasters, and most of them are republicans. I do wish there was a way to move departments out of DC. Having everything in one area doesn’t make sense to me in regards to national security.

I would prefer a 50% reduction in federal employment. Across the board, every department except the military.

Typical government response: fix the currency inflation they caused by pushing more currency into the system.

Brilliant.

I'm curious if this will include contract and grant employees. When you tabulate the actual number of people that are in the federal workforce, it's approaching 10M. That includes uniformed personnel.

5.2% increase is a very large chunk of money.

Didn't they just get a pay raise and peloton subscriptions for all staff?
