You sound hopeful. But Trump will do what he wants.

Sorry not sorry.

How come all of these EOs by Biden are supposedly difficult to reverse? Every article treats them like they are laws.

Trump can shred them day 1

I have never seen a SCOTUS ruling worded anything like that. The President has the power to issue executive orders. People are telling us that this one will be hard to walk back, and it will take a vote by Congress. I don’t know the truth of it, but a bunch of blowhatds saying, “Trump will ooverturn it in 20 minutes” does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Well as a presidential E O it can be undone no different than prior ones from presidents. It’s a Executive Order not a Constitutional Law or even a congressional mandate

The gp always quotes another news source. In this case they have linked Bloomberg.

I just don't see this happening.

I'd agree, but Bloomberg tends to not go around publishing headlines to encite outrage from the conservative side like Gateway does, so there's at least some smoke here.

Now...from the Bloomberg article, this does seem to be somewhat in line with actions taken by Eisenhower and Bush I; however, in my unprofessional opinion, we've reached a point in our history of both the need for secure energy and industry technology making drilling and production much more safe and environmentally friendly that we should start opening up some of these areas.

As we see declines in the shale basins of Permian and DJ, we need more potentially untapped resources.

What you say seems to make sense, but what I am reading refutes it. I suggest you research it a little.
quote:

Trump is expected to order a reversal of the protections, but it’s not clear he will be successful. During his first term in office, Trump sought to revoke former President Barack Obama’s order to protect more than 125 million acres (50.6 million hectares) of the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, which was rejected by a federal district court in 2019. Trump has actually used the same statute to block oil and gas leasing in waters near Florida and North Carolina in a bid to appeal to voters in the final weeks of the 2020 presidential campaign. Supporters of the 1953 Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, which governs offshore oil and gas development, note that Congress gave presidents wide discretion to permanently protect waters from leasing, but it didn’t explicitly grant them the authority to undo those designations.

Article with the above quote (not much else there)

It is a valid point, about Florida and oil & gas leasing and activity. I'm very curious to see if over the next four years, President Trump is going to allow operators to nominate blocks that have been off-limits off the coast of Florida.

I'm just glad Americans are starting to see the corruption. The last election renewed my faith in the common sense of most people. He is too cognitively impaired to run for office again, and he no longer can even speak in public, but he's signing pardons and executive orders. Corruption is as corruption does.
